Sup /k/, Canadafag here
Just got my RPAL in the mail, looking to make my first purchase. Looking for affordable and good starter non-R or a cheap R pistol. Pic related was my first thought, any others?

I guess it depends on what you mean by "Cheap".

shit just saw this now - under 800 bucks would be cheap
>>33494601
Yes OP get the SKS before cuckminister has them banned desu fampai
>>33494601
Iam thinking about getting a SKS from Cabela's is it worth it anon would be my first legal purchase? Just want something for home defense
Bump
off hand does anyone know if FN SCARs and H&K MR223A3 are restricted in Canada? Starting to look into it now
I've read people talking shit about SCARs, is these criticisms founded?
I'd prefer the HK anyway, but if I can't get my hands on it, I'll just forget about it now
>>33496233
not canadian, but im almost certain leafs can get them, and the proper european versions too, not the shitty us ones
Sks and a tt33 you will not regret it you will eventually sell your sks but you will realize it was a mistake and buy another.
Every Canadian gun owner has one or a dozen
Should I get a SKS, or a Nugget?
>>33498611
SKS or VZ58 if you can find one at a good price, the ammo is cheaper
>>33498643
I'd love getting the Vz obviously, but it's a pretty steep asking price considering I'm going to pick either-or up with my tax return.

>SCAR
nope, sadly
>HK MR223A3
I think that's awaiting decision
best quality non-restricted is the B&T APC223

I got mine back when they were like $700, but you can still find deals on gunnutz if you keep your eye out
OP here, thanks for all the recommendations.

A .22lr
>Restricted
Norinco 1911 or sig clone

True, owned 2 , sold both , have to get another 1 this year
>>33501501
Canadian, has to own at least 1 .303 sooner or later
The unique thing about the 7.62x25 is most of the still available surplus is able to penetrate level IIIa body armour. It's the only pistol round in Canada with a steel core and because the Soviets actually designated a black tip round as armour piercing, the regular steel core (that is banned in America as armour piercing) is allowed. It is crazy overpowered and easily outperformed any other pistol ammunition in penetration.
It's cheaper than 9mm ammunition
It has history cool unique design and kinda looks like a early browning.

I'd actually typed that out and then deleted it because ammo is pricey for them.
Sporter .303's are underrated brush guns

The TT33 is the best value pistol in Canada
Hand made lol All metal simple design,
battle proven, unbreakable even for Ivan.
The cool thing is the reason it was replaced was it was too powerful. Pretty cool reason to me.
The price is almost ridiculous for what you get They were 180 last year with a holster and extra mag. The only negative is you can't shoot it indoors as the steel core is a fire danger when it sparks as it fucks up the backstops.

You can use 5.56 brass to make 7.62x25
It can easily be converted into 9mm just replace the barrel bushing and magazine (lever arms still has some)
It's a great gun to learn on as most of its controls are modern and located in similar areas on modern designs.

Agreed. I have a few myself. If you reload you can get the price down to about 60 cents a round. that being said, everyone needs a 30-30 too.
