/k/ found this at local pawn shop. Thinking about putting it on lay away. Besides it being refinished I saw nothing wrong with it. Talk me out of it.
>>
>>33480630
Refinished means you can shoot it.
>>
>>33480630
do it
>>
>>33480630
750 is a but high but thats still on the shooter end of the spectrum.

If you like Lugers you would be hardpressed to find a better deal these days.
>>
>>33480630
Also when I looked at the mag it looked brand new. Stainless steel if that matters.
>>
>>33480653
Thats a repro mag, try to talk the guy down to 700.
>>
If you want a cool shooter, id buy it. Your other options are pay more for an original but poor condtion one or pay a lot more for an original in good to great condition. Id pic the refinished one
>>
>>33480664
I would try to see if he would do 650. Push the repro mag and that it means that there may be feeding issues.
>>
>>33480731
Some repro mags like MecGar are extremely high quality though.

Yeah... might not be the best negotiation tactic
>>
>>33480648
750 is a bit high? Nigga it's a Luger

the guns a bit overpriced since its been completely refinished and no longer has any real collector value. 600-700 is what you should try to negotiate down to.

What the fuck are you smoking.

>>33480630
Nigger for $750 with a layaway option you'd be a dumbass fucking retard to not leave half down on that bitch right now at least.

Fuck man i swear. I hope you take your sweet ass time and when you come back that shit's gone, that way you learn your fucking lesson.

You know that but does the pawnshop owner know that? The trick is to down play positives and point out every negative feature.

If it was me I would go to the shop like so:
>Hi, I am interested in that Luger there, mind if I can see it?
Look it over for a little, searching for scratches/worn finish or similar issues. If you see any mismatching numbers note that too.
>Yeah, what can you do price wise. $750 is a bit steep for a Luger in this condition
In my experience, unless it is a shop that specializes in collectibles they will drop the price anywhere from 10-20% right away just to clear shelf space.
>I then rebut with what is wrong and ask just a little below the price he gave me (usually another 5-15%)
After that it is the haggling game

>>33480957
Lugers are old world construction style guns. Each part is hand fitted to the gun. Only a few parts are easily swapped without fitting. Magazines play a big part in feeding with them. A Luger with original magazine should have no issues but OP is not dealing with all original. The mag most likely will function perfectly, but the store owner may or may not know that.
>>
>>33481003
are you mentally ill?

>>33480997
Are you fucking stupid, do you not see thats an AUCTION with THREE fucking days left for the price to go nowhere but up, especially in the last 20 mins.

Hypothetically lets say someone got that luger for ~$800, that nigger got lucky that was his lucky break everyone gets one sometime but he's not gonna be able to get a luger for that price every fucking time you fucktard. If this was the case i'd own about three at least. This is op's lucky break and he'd be a fool not to jump on it. He won't come across one again i guarafuckingtee.

>>33480731
Wow, just fucking wow. I didnt know we had the star of pawnstarz on this bitch, what fucking world do you live in where you think you're gonna get a firing luger for $650 dollars? That's a low price for a good new production gun today nigger get real.
>>
>>33480630
Go for it OP. However, like the other anons have stated, you can do a bit better on the price. Also check the condition of the bore, it might help a bit with the price alongside the refinish and the magazine.

>>
>>33481009
Implying because its refinished it's price drops that much. Nigger sure it loses its collectable value blah blah blah but fuck that a shooter luger for $750 is a steal and if you say it's not my boy maybe the one with the comprehension problem is you.

>>33481016

Show me anywhere where i can get a refinished luger for less than $750 plus shipping. I'll wait. Go ahead.
>>
>>33481054
>>33481081

Hey assholes refinished doesn't mean the same as pitted fucking metal
>>
>>33481059
Oh, I would just hope for $650. Realistically I would go for $675-690 on a Luger placed at $750. Also going by the fact that if a shop owner placed the value that low to start, he has very little fell for the value of the gun. Like I said, they tend to drop 10% right away, since they are just hoping for a quick buy. You are an idiot if you never try to negotiate the price on a used gun.

Worst case scenario if you fail at negotiating, the guy asks you to leave and you are in the same spot you are right now. Most likely scenario, is he walks with the Luger for $700 +/- $10.

Most Lugers have worn out or incorrectly specced springs.

With fresh and proper springs (and mags), they'll run as well as a 1911
>>
I'd jump all over that nigger if the barrel looks good.

Even if you shoot the shit out of it, I bet you could get another couple hundred for it a couple years down the line.

If it's mechanically sound, it would be a worthwhile investment, plus you get to shoot it.

>For sale is my WW1 era P08 luger. This particular piece was manufactured by erfurt and has been refinished. The bore shows a fair amount of wear and is pitted. There is a small amount of light pitting under some of the refinish and wear to the front grip strap
>>
>>33481368

I would have driven out to milwalkee for that deal.
>>
>>33480630
Don't do it anon, way too expensive and Lugers are shit. Let me know where this is so I'll know to never give these jews any business.

OP here, thanks for the advice /k/. I originally went in to look at some push mowers they had out front since I needed something for my house and saw they had guns there too. Went in looked at the mowers then quickly moved to the guns. See over priced Chinese SKS tapco stock($599). See a fairly mint cz 24 ($559), I'll grab a pic of that when I go back. Then I saw the Luger.
>>
>>33481129
Might as well be. A gun having it's original finish vs. having it be redone even by the manufacture is a price difference as drastic as night and day.
