HK P30 vs FN FNX 9mm

both 9mm
I know there's a price difference, but setting that aside which one would be better for my first handgun & Concealed Carry?
trying to decide between these two

Why do you want to conceal carry a full size handgun? Why aren't you looking at a Glock 43, S&W Shield, Ruger LC9, Springfield XDS, or something that's actually concealable and relatively comfortable to carry all day.

Personally I prefer the HK, it's more comfortable in the hand, the FNX out-Glocks the Glock for square bodied bulkiness.
>>
>>33480037
P30 for me, better ergonomics, great reliability and durability, based paddle mag release. Consider installing/ purchasing one with light Lem - essentially a single action trigger with a lot of take up so no need for a safety. Fnx is also good, if it really fits your hand then go for it.

Because he takes his self defense seriously/isn't lazy/ can afford a quality holster and belt.
>>
>>33480037
Have you shot or held either of them?
>>
>>33480162
no. the FNX is illegal in my state of commiefornia
but i plan on moving to Las Vegas

>Because he takes his self defense seriously/isn't lazy/ can afford a quality holster and belt.
also this
thanks anon
I'm willing to save up and spend the money needed for the best self defense possible
>>
>>33480308
Pretty sure both are illegal to get through an FFL in commifornia.
Funny enough, the Five-seveN is legal to get here.
>>
>>33480108
Having more than one size of carry is really ideal. I have a pile of different sized pistols in various calibers to suit my daily whims.

>>33480037
I really want an HK because of all the reinforced shilling I've been around. I just can't do it.

mk23, huge, pathetic magazine capacity for size, unicorn rail, paddles

usp, shit trigger, mag cap again, uni rail as well, puddles

p30, paddle release, airsoft decocker on the rear of the slide, and it lost all the sex appeal the 23 and usp had. (front serrations, "ergonomic grip area that looks like a basketball batman would have made, side panels,

vp9, this is only for hk fags that are to poor for the real thing.
>>
>>33480405
you say >paddles as if it's a bad thing
>>
>>33480370
no, P30 is on handgun roster in Cali
FN not willing to throw money at cali for the FNX-9 to be approved
>>
>>33480370

>the Five-seveN is legal to get here

I'd attribute this to the fact that you're probably not going to kill anyone in a defensive situation with ten rounds of 5.7x28. Maybe if you get lucky. Maybe.
>>
>>33480037
There was a recent event where an FN had failed and the owner tried to have it warrantied through FN. However since he didn't have it serviced BY FN at each two thousand round intervals as stated in the manual and had stripped the gun to figure out the issue, he had voided the warranty as a result.
So in short, make your decision.

I guess that could be my second handgun, but how it that better than the HK P30sk?
>>33482224
true. i'm a bit chubby but I can shed it in a few months with some exercise
>>
>>33482332
it's just the big difference between single stacks and double stacks. people shit on single stacks for some reason but they really are the only option for a certain type of dress (i.e; formal) and some people wear that kind of shit ALL DAY
>>
>>33480483
More like the FNX series doesn't have a mag disconnect

They're apples to oranges but if I had to pick, light LEM P30 without question. As a first conceal carry gun, you have to be honest with yourself if you can actually conceal something as big as the P30. If you cannot do it, there is always the P30SK which is a subcompact version of the P30 and it accepts the fullsize P30's magazines.

It is absolutely doable to carry it if you AIWB with a good holster and a good belt.

Also, HK actually makes a sturdy, proven product and backs it up with customer support, something FN DOES NOT do.

Would strongly recommend getting Todd G's light LEM if you do get a P30. LEM is HK's greatest strength and you'll be doing yourself a disservice of getting anything other than an LEM HK.

>sturdy, proven product
so you'd say the tolerances are tight?
>>
>>33480037
I've shot both in .40. The FNX had more controllable recoil, the P30 had a better trigger, especially in double action.

Shoot both and pick the one you like more. Both are solid

just watched a vid explaining and demonstrating the LEM trigger in great detail. thanks. Wouldn't have known if not for this

LEM is great. If you're in the D/FW area, definately get a class with Hardwired Tactical and get some instruction from Darryl Bolke who is the author of that article.

Yea, that 1/4" sure makes a huge difference.

Neither, get a Px4 compact or subcompact

If you're a lean person and live in a tropical climate like I do, it for sure matters.
>>
>>33484332
If you were getting a PX4, I would suggest getting the Compact over the Subcompact any day of the week. There is very little of a size and weight difference between the two and the Compact is infinetely more shootable with more aftermarket parts available for it.

t. faggot with 2 PX4 Compact Carries
>>
>>33484412
oh i agree. Compact is my favorite size of hand gun, but HK only makes the p30 in full or Subcompact. i'd LOVE a compact p30!
>>
>>33484598
>i'd LOVE a compact p30!

Closest thing you'll get is a P2000 but it holds 13+1. Completely get what you mean though, a Glock 19 sized P30.

iirc, HK considers the P30 to be a "compact" with the P30L being the fullsize
>>
>>33484635
>a Glock 19 sized P30
That's exactly what I meant

>HK considers the P30 to be a "compact" with the P30L being the fullsize
that's fucking dumb. because Glock has Long variants too, obviously separate from their fullsized
>>
>>33484635
seriously considering the P30SK with a mag extension like pic relatd
>>
>>33484239
No, but I'm amused that's a thing.
