Why are fudd guns so much more aesthetically pleasing than modern guns?
they don't fiddle around picking the "best" accessory rail or piss about on picking a gucci stock

Aesthetics are subjective, everyone likes different stuff

True
Still though, most old world guns were created through processes that inherently upheld craftsmanship traditions. Most modern guns on the other hand are designed to maximize ergonomic factors, weight, cost of materials and such.
Neither way is better than the other and in many cases the latter becomes the former with the passage of time - especially of wartime weapons. As the practical elements are replicated over and over the impractical characteristics become the gun's "personality"
Nobody thought an AK looked pretty in 1947, you know

I don't think they look good today. I think AKs are crude, ugly bullet throwers made to be passed around to illiterate peasants.
Something about holding a finely crafted hunting rifle in my hands is magical. I can't describe it. It's like trying to explain sex to an alien.

Where's the original version of that cartoon?
>>33480039
how to make modern guns aesthetically pleasing.
Step one:paint parts in warm or cool colors that ARE NOT green tan or any kind of camo.
Step two: maybe two tone.
Step three: maybe multi-tone
Step four: PROFIT.

No, a fudd is defined as someone who thinks that sport is legitimate while fighting is not. I don't hold that view, but I think that sporting rifles and their early twentieth century military counterparts are aesthetically superior to piles of black plastic and rails.
