Sierra Leone paying Executive Outcomes in diamond mining rights cast the whole practice of hiring mercenaries in a bad light. Also SA eneacted laws to prevent it's citizens from fighting for foreign countries, which killed Executive Outcomes. I've seen a screencap posted that details how to become employable by a PMC without military experience via becoming a paramedic and taking reputable tactical training classes in around a 4 year period. /r/ing that if anybody has it.

Oh yeah, because companies hiring guys are going to look at your classes and be completely fine with the fact you have no military experience whatsoever.

Such classes are run by snake oil salesmen, if they claim to bring you to military equivalency. You can only learn marksmanship, which has precisely nothing to do with private security work.

The main selling point of your skillset was the medical skills, as I recall. For pure trigger pulling work, PMC's only want SOF equivalent experience, but medics are always in demand as long as you have some compensatory tactical skills. Military Medic experience would obviously be ideal.
