Thinking about getting a CZ pistol, but /k/ doesn't seem to think too highly about CZ, like quality control problems, shit finishes etc.

What is the truth?
>>
>>33471051
I don't know what /k/ you've been on, but the CZ 75 is breddy gud.
>>
>>33471051

Don't know about the rest of /k/ but i just bought a BD for cheap.
>>
>>33471051
I've had a few CZ's never had a problem with any of them. I've also never had any problems with Berettas either but they are looked down upon as well.
>>
Just got a 75 compact yesterday. I haven't fired it yet. It feels great in my hands though and the full size 75 is a great gun imo. Hoping the compact is just as good.

I love mine. I've put about 1,500 rounds through it so far and it's never jammed. Very easy to shoot, very ergonomic.

I want to get a 2075 RAMI to carry but they're out of stock everywhere on the planet
>>
Finishes are on the weak side, and tool marks a prevalent, but function is great and da/sa is a flexible set up.
>>
>>33471177
it is very nice having the DA/SA, you can also convert to SAO if you like. With my stock DA/SA trigger and CGW upgraded sear and hammer it breaks almost like a 1911 now.

If you go to the right thread, you can find a vocal group of people that hate everything, except the thing they like.
>>
My SP-01 is pretty great, never had a problem with it.

Trying to find a P-01 for CC but they are extinct in the wild right now.
>>
>>33471051
I bought a PCR as my first gun and I like it.
The finish and machining marks are only a real problem on the interior. As long as you keep it clean and lubed it will treat you right. I've only ever had one FTF out of several thousand rounds. They eat just about anything you feed them. Feels good to hold and shoots breddy okay too
>>
>>33471051
/k/ seems to think that internal machining marks are some sort of indicator of something other than a functional pistol. It's a gun, not a work of art. There are guns that are works of art, and if they had mass production tooling/machining marks - I'd be questioning the artisan, but like my bulgarian makarov (tool mark city, but will always go bang) - buy a gun to shoot, buy art to hang on the wall.
>>
>>33471302
I find a few of those from time to time they always get snatched up quickly.
>>
>>33471300
Neat, I got dubs.

I should mention, I tried to shoot Hyda-shocks through my PCR a week ago and it jammed every shot. They are big ass hollowpoints so I'm not really surprised or worried about it. I have some Hornady Critical Duty coming in the mail now, hopefully those work.
>>
>>33471051
>/k/ doesn't seem to think too highly about CZ
Just about every fan group here has a reason to hate it.
Glockfags and 1911fags hate it for not being a Glock or 1911 respectively.
HK, Sig, and also 1911fags shit on it for muh finish, muh machining marks. etc. etc.

Pistol is fine. Yeah the internal finish and machining marks are there and bad, but the mechanics of the gun are sound and it's a quality design that's been copied a ton for good reason.
As far as guns you'll actually use, they're a great pick, especially for the price.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that they aren't good, I just mean the main reason they're so popular is because of Glock's enormously successful marketing campaign. I want to get a PCR or steel frame compact to do some Sphinx-tier fine-tuning work on one, mainly
>sandblasting the finish
>stoning and polishing slide and frame rails
>novak rear sight cut
>polishing every part I can
>sending parts out to get a nitride salt bath

would anyone have any tips for working on one? this will be the first handgun I've played with
>don't bother trying to tell me it's not worth it, I've got my head set on it.

Tooling marks. They're Czech, it's a whole different different kind of class.
>>
>>33471847
>not a 1000$ gun
>tooling marks

I'm still not seeing what's wrong, even if some manufacturers in the same price tier don't have tooling marks.
>>
>>33471841
Omega ones have a simpler action and you can switch out safety to decocker and back easily, trigger quality is supposedly better too. It's the p-09 action basically in the 75 frame. I have both, like the trigger on both but if you want to fuck around with a 75, the omega action is a lot simpler.
>>
>>33471832
I have the SP-01 as well. Agree on the trigger.
It's a tool and it does great at being a tool.
The tritium sights are great as well.
>>
>>33471876
it's just autists on /k/ who try to use it as an argument that CZ is bad, even though it could probably outshoot their own pistols. If they actually owned any, that is.
>>
>>33471876
There is nothing wrong, that gun is nicer shooting and more accurate than that Glock while also looking better.
>>
>>33471893

yeah i had a glock 19 or the cz in front of me for the same price and i think i did good. im getting stuff ready to give it a trigger work over, but I wanted to put about 1k through the tube first. never had a ftf/fte.

the worst worst part is getting use to grabbing the slide.
>>
>>33471541
Why don't you browse your LGSes or pawn shops? That's where I got mine.
There's lots of cool shit you find in the nooks and crannies, and a lot of times they're at better prices than auctions that run way over their value because of collector faggotry.

I see more tuned CZ 75s at IPSC matches than Glock and SW combined. One of the more popular double stacks for a reason...

I'm sure it will come in like two or three years, but regardless it looks like a really nice gun. Idk if I want one of those or an all steel 75 compact.

Great gun. Accurate. probably the most ergonomic(imho) gun out there. Only real knock against them is that on the average they seem to be slightly more prone to malfunction than some newer simpler designs. If you don't actively treat it like shit you should be fine though.
>>
>>33471841
It is worth it. although this is coming from a guy who picked up a transitional Pre b CZ 85 combat specifically so he'd have a project gun so take that with a grain of salt.

Here is my "75"
Year of manufacture 1994 (is only slightly younger than me)

Technically, I'm the second owner, her first owner is no longer alive (a guy who had inherited her from his friend sold her to me...

I don't know how much first owner sent through, estimate was 3000 +/-
I sent through already 2000 +

Without a malfunction (reloaded ammo, various manufacturers, mag-dumping...)

The main source of problems on CZ 75/85 is the slide catch pin...
Our shooting club, where from time to time I have a duty as RSO, has CZ 75 as main guns for training (like most shooting ranges here in Czech rep.) The only thing that leave on this weapons is the slide catch pin. once a quarter of the year.
However, we are talking about guns that during two days consume over 1500+ rounds each...
They are cleaned very sporadically, cleaning usually involves sprays with preservation and cleaning oil and wiping with rag... done in 3minutes.

These weapons are not indestructible, it's just a full-fledged service, metal frame pistol. For the Czechs, it is a legend. This design is 40 years old, of course, they are better and higher quality pistols. If you take 75/85 in your hand and you feel that you are interested, certainly you will not make a mistake with acquisition...

Don't listen to the CZfags, they will try to sell you the worst and shittiest gun, just because it has CZ stamped on it. IF you're wanting one, get the turk clones, its cheaper and better finish. You should get a gun good instead, something like a USP.
>>
>>33475650
I like smaller guns and have no interest in CCing anything bigger than a glock 26. Why is it the G19 is the perfect size? Sure the P01 is heavier but it's not a CC pistol. Perfect nightstand pistol, range, "duty" whatever

I always heard that the tooling allows for grease to sit on the slide, even if it is ugly. I own one and have had no problems. It is also very accurate with low recoil compared to poly frame handguns.

bought an sp-01 a year ago. had constant failure to feed problems. eventually shot the firing pin out of the back of the gun after like 800 rounds. sent it in to the factory to have it repaired. only put like 40 rounds through it after I got it back. no issues but still sold it. got my sphinx sdp compact alpha so no need to keep the sp-01.

i still fantasize about getting a two-tone pcr, but I just don't trust cz with my life like I do my sphinx.

Wait, Sphinx, who has better finish and machining compared to CZ.
>>
>>33471051
>like quality control problems, shit finishes etc.
They have no more quality control issues than any other major gun manufacturer. It's true they sometimes have interior blemishes - though the issue is overblown here - and the polycoat finish on the classic models isn't as pretty or corrosion resistant as the finish on most modern plastic striker-fired pistols. That's the tradeoff if you want to pay sub-Glock prices for an otherwise well made all-metal, hammer-fired pistol.

Or you could just get a P-07 or P-09 and bypass pretty much all of the common complaints with the CZ 75 design.

It's a shame other companies don't focus on the 19's dimensions more when they shit out a new polymer copycat gun each year. I want to see guns with that Goldilocks zone grip length. It felt weird the first time picking up a Glock, but I got used to the ergonomics, sans those finger grooves.

I wish 75s were more customizable like 1911s. I'd like to swap out that fuckhuge beavertail on my P-01 with something more recessed, but the only option I have is to file it down which I don't feel is worth devaluing it over.

I like my sp-01, but the stock trigger is lacking.
I think a trigger job would make it god tier.

I would have gotten a Sphinx or Tangfolo if I knew about them.

Both have near perfect triggers and finishes.

I've seen some tangfolo stock 3s sell for $800 new so it's not a far cry from a $600 sp-01

My friend, I made a threat the other week about alloy-framed CZ pistols, and mentioned a few times the "CZ hate meme". Most posters didn't acknowledge that it exists and said CZ pistols are great or at least pretty good..

Perhaps it really is glock fanbois and other assorted shitposters that post this stuff. CZ are in my opinion fantastic. Pic related.
