I see people say this, but I have 2 years worth of hiking 6+miles a day 2-3 times a week year round on mine and they are still kicking. I suspect most of the people who post in these threads never get off the pavement for any distance much greater then crossing the landscaped buffers in a wal-mart parking lot.

Here are 2 yr old beat to shit moabs. There is one small chunk out of the one one the right and that's it. Doesn't effect the waterproofing or the grip.

Merrell quality has plummeted sometime in the last couple years.
I bought a pair of Moabs last January and the soles were delaminating by May.
I was pretty happy with the pair before that.
However in general with boots "buy once cry once" applies.
My Danners are still kicking after 1200 miles in rugged terrain and manual labor on top of it.
IMO best you can do unless you're dropping $450+ on White's or Nick's custom-made for your feet.

I wish I had some footage of where I hike. It's basically a 800ft pile of limestone that plants and animals have colonized. I had some shit tier new balance hikers the first year I started going regularly and they didn't last 3 months. Bought these Merrels and still going. Oh and I do wear a pack, but it's a day pack....lawls
