>Pros
Cheaper than a catapult.
>Cons
Americans make fun of you on /k/.
>>
>>33442334
>pros
standardized with other logistics
>cons
retrofitting of ship and equipment

On the rare occasion using the same weapon system, nothing.
>>

Land based tech isn't going to last long. They aren't designed to deal with the salty conditions.
>>
>Pros
You already have it
It's cheaper than some custom solution
It's quick to implement
>Cons
Now it's hogging your helipad
It'll probably slide off into the sea when some drunk sailor manages to undo the tiedowns
>>
Its a test you retards.

What I find amusing is that the USA has essentially done the opposite to the Russians.

One of the cons is that you typically put a lot of effort on making it saltwater resistant

THIS..Unless it was for riverine purpose. Using equipment without making it saltwater-corrosion resistant surely will spell an increasing cost just to maintain them.
>>
>>33442334
Pros: unification goes in every field.
Cons: you have to adjust it for naval conditions.
It's not like it's something new.

North Korean Navy example. During the 2002 Battle of Yellow Sea. One of this antiquated ship using a 85mm shell managed to score a critical direct hit on more modern South Korea patrol ship.

Why? Germans cannot into river monitors?

I feel like it is easier to put a naval system on land than vice versa

Corrosion from sea water and heavier than expected recoil disrupting the ship electronics. Plus the turret and mounting system cannot stand against rough sea condition.
