The Mak is really, really great. It can do things the CZ82 can't, like decock with the safety.

I love pretty much all the Combloc 9x18mm handguns, DESU. They're just so honest, simple, and robust.

I bought wood grips for my 82 at grips4u.net and now the magazine won't drop free. I only tightened the grips to the absolute minimum so they don't pop loose during handling, and sanded down parts of the insides but it doesn't help. Anyone else have this issue?

Also my mag release is stiff as fuck and is starting to hurt my finger. Anyone have a fix?

The wood is obviously fouling on the side of the mag, or some part of the mag release.

You could try smoking the frame with a candle...

Take the grips off and insert an empty mag. Then take a lit candle and waft the flame over the grip and mag until you have a layer of soot over every part the grips might touch. Then reinstall the grips and tighten them normally. Handle the gun, to allow the grips to shift around slightly, then remove the grips. Everywhere there is soot rubbed on to the wood in a place that the wood doesn't normally touch the frame is a "high spot", and you know where to sand.

Repeat until your mag drops free again.

I own other guns with polygonal rifling. The CZ's bore looked notably worse, but it wasn't pitted or anything like that. Maybe it was just dirty, but I had only given it a quick once-over.
