He said they came in, suppressed the situation. Most of them were hiding under vehicles not even returning fire. To Jessica's credit, she admitted she wasn't a hero even though the media tried to amp her up to be one.

It's funny, yesterday a marine guy I work with at my software company told me that he once caught one of the guys he roomed with (also a marine) pulling a tooth out with a pair of needlenose pliers while in the bathroom.

Because "his tooth hurt."

I know dentists overseas can suck, but it can't be so traumatizing that when you're stateside you can't go and see a decent dentist.

Nah, I'm a dental student. The guy probably needed a root canal. That way his pain would be gone, and he would still have a functioning tooth in his mouth. Extraction is usually reserved for cases where your jawbone has eroded away from inflammation and your teeth are too loose to be worth keeping.

Then again, if the guy managed to yank it out with pliers then that might have been the case after all. Usually you'd have to cut the ligaments holding the tooth in place first.
