One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

Same goes for the EZLN, the PKK, and ETA among others.

they didnt have a load of mags, so they loaded the mags with clips
>>
>>33392569
Yes, and that's what the liberals or the conservatives or anyone else in power will say about any rebel group in the US.

The word 'terrorist' has been so distorted nowadays that it's basically a catch-all for anyone who challenges the government's authority.

Up the provos
>>
>>33393300
Basically this.

They will either be termed "Terrorists" or "Thugs," depending on if they are an organized or disorganized force.
>>
>>33390019
Yes, ammo comes on clips in boxes in bandoleers.
>>
>>33390097
bretty catchy
>>
>>33392730
The difference being that terrorists deliberately target civilians for the sole purpose of inspiring fear. That is actually the real definition of terrorism, not the phony political definition created by Bush.
>>
>>33395435
Eh, really though, the State has always called those who undermine their authority "Terrorists"

And that can be even if they are fighting for liberation of a pople

Mexican Gov't called EZLN Terrorists. They were fighting for indigenous rights in Chiapas

English called the IRA terrorists. They fought to liberate the Occupied Counties

ETA were called terrorists by Spain and France. But they fought to liberate Basque Country

PKK, same thing. Terrorists by Turkey. But fought for a free Kurdistan

Yep, those Provos were definitely freedom fighters and not terrorists, boy howdy. I don't know why anyone would even think to accuse them of terrorism.
>>
>>33398858
the IRA were mobsters cloaking themselves in the trappings of a noble cause
>>
>>33390015
because the ira gave up the bomb and the gun and the mandolin all at the same time
so now all we have is clashing of the swords, "welcome to the jungle", sabaton, and immortal technique
we're in a sad slump
but hey at least the wolf tones gave us enough for inspiration right?
hoo ah up the ra
>>
>>33398941
and how many people died in the carbombings? 9 total? and soldiers at that, not civvies....
>>
>>33398868

>>33398951
If we're talking about the IRA from the troubles then I don't have any reference point to argue for or against that. It definitely seems that the group's out there today are a bunch of street hoods, but like I said, I don't have any reference point for this.
Personally though, I don't agree with forcing northern Ireland to leave the UK and driving out the "british".
It sucks that 800 years ago Ireland was invaded but that's life, get on with it.
Now the rebellion from what was it? 1917? Yeah I can understand the majority Irish counties wanting to become independent and that was definitely a worthy cause.
>>
>>33398980
In fact no one died in the Manchester bombing, but it wasn't for lack of trying. There's only one word for the sort of person who would drive a truck full of explosives into the central business district of a major city, and that word is "terrorist".
>>
>>33390015
Knew instantly. Wolfe tones?
>>
>How come there aren't more catchy /k/ songs made about more modern conflicts?
Nasheeds used to be quite popular on /k/ a few years ago, most notably Clashing of the Swords, they don't seem to get posted as much these days though.

The IRA targeted civilians in most of their attacks
That is the definition of a terrorist
