Btw, ro1 darkest hour was yhr ibky game where i stayed at the damr spot for almost one hour whtout dying bt killing soviet tanja killing in cqc with mp40 and distances with k98, those berlin maps were really Nice. yep, pr movement and sighintg enemies at distance just does not work with that engine/game, it's sad but its too old, unreal 2004 would be a better plataform for that.. but squad is expensive as fuck, and it seems it won't come with the intended mods so so far i'll just wait out a bit before deciding to buy it

I love how all the mods for Arma 3 cater to my /gq/ autism and ACE3 is legit to play with (especially with advanced wounds turned on) but finding a good multiplayer server is hard as fuck. I usually just go into the editor and make my own mission. Lately with the Iron Front mod I've been making modern Devgru vs waffen ss battles or playing with the physics at extended ranges.

Do not like supremacy mode. It's a nice idea but the fact that you can hit every point means the US just does a Huey rush for the 2nd to last or last NVA point, takes it, and then even if the NVA was winning before they end up losing from destabilizing. In theory you could organize to make sure a squad stays near to the rear (or just die rapidly and respawn) but that means a lot of people are forced to be rear echelon motherfuckers.

More importantly however is it turns RO into battlefield - where you spend 75% of the time running, 20% fighting, 5% waiting to respawn. You have to run from point to point to point, barely any time to breath and rest and be strategic and fights are almost always in a 1v1 or 2v2, never a sense of grand fighting. ia Drang somewhat remedies it with I think -2 less points and the points more compact.

What I want to see modders do on release is switch Song Be and Ia Drang back to territory mode but make it 2-3 points per wave. Choose points that ideally are far apart from one another so that the US still has a reason and advantage to using the huey to rapidly maneuver. Or hell, even if it's plain territory mode if the US can move far behind the NVA then it means the NVA would have to deal with US attacks in between spawn and the point.
Basically with RS2 I am not sure if it'll be buy on release but once you start getting more fan maps it'll be great.

The Vietnamese have an unfair advantage on Cuchi and Hue because of the lack of helicopters. Those two maps pretty much mean the Viets have all their perks (tunnel spawning, superior recon, ect.) and the US doesn't get their great equalizer of recon littlebird firepower cobra or spawning huey. And the quick refresh of the SAM missile means three of the US' four offensive assets are countered immediately. And the recon plane is just plain dogshit compared to the spy network of the Viets.

I wish they had just managed to add in the m113 because an M113 as a land huey (let you spawn, move around with a .50 fire position) would be perfect on those maps.

Short of a change like the M113 or longer time for Viet artillery or whatever I think servers should just allow x1.5 to x2 as many support classes for the US. So 4-6 Machine gunners, 4-6 40mms. Right now in a pure infantry vs infantry engagement there's zero asymmetry between US and Viets. For all the talk of technological advantage gook get as many LMG, as many RPG to 40mike, superior glorious Papasha to shitty ass grease gun.

Include de-capping? I assume they have the whole "you can hit any point at any time" to encourage the US Huey usage and Viet sneakiness. I get that principle but what we end up with is that battlefield "Sprint nonstop" because there's no single battle-line.

Well let me rephrase the autism.

If just replacing supremacy with territory that encourages use of huey and tunnel spawn importance, ignore the stock ABCDEF, focus on the white circles.

Make A + B, C +D, ect. be on separate sides of the map. You'd have to move important villages or forts on this map to match it, but the circles give a sense of the spread. Think Myshkova river on steroids. Have it be so running from spawn is a huge bitch (encouraging the US squadlead survives, the huey is used, the tunnel is put in a very protective spot), if you take A it's not going to just be a quick jog to secure B, ect.

Do away with the links. I like the idea behind supremacy but when it releases I am going to do my damndest to not have to play it because it lacks the spirit of territory mode that I feel makes the RO series great

That's all obviously not guaranteed and might be a bit pipe-dreamy, though I think ANZACS, more maps, huey gunship, and multiplayer campaign feel like the most certain and easy to add. Also bringing up RO2/RS1 weapons.

Besides ground vehicles what I'd like to see would be maybe either a spec-op class for the US or Spec op version of marines/army for certain maps. Not because of muh green berets muh navy seels what did you say about me you little bitch but rather that would let them justify some of those more exotic stuff. I can't expect them to go full retard with the weapon options like BF1 but it'd be dope to have the Stoner M63 or Uzi or Mac10 on some maps.

The thing is I have joined servers and witnessed Level 80+, usually Level 90+ players that are playing right alongside Father Lemons, and you can observe the experienced players typically have really fucking good strategy and obviously tons of experiences, yet the shots they take to get kills still seem to make sense. Father Lemons, on the other hand, just makes the most insane and wild kills on a daily fucking basis and it is hard to make sense of most of his crazier kills. Seems like he is hacking in most peoples' eyes.

It is though. If you have a bolt action rifle you're just fucked most of the time. Want to do some long range shooting? Too bad, you just caught lead from some tool with a scope. Want to try to rush the sniper? Oops! You just ran into a dude with an Mp40 and he just wrecked you because your bolt action is trash for CQ.

Ah I see. So you've never played it and have never bothered to look into it. The game just recently had a major update introducing multiple new vehicles, major changes, a new class with a new weapon, among other things. The game as it stands has a pretty decent amount of content, a nice variety of maps and the like, and it's been a pretty fucking solid experience gameplay wise. Its hardly a "barely functional" game. I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs either. I've put a good 60 or so hours into the game and don't have any regrets about the 25 bucks I paid. Its been a lot of fun.

I think pretty much every commie counterpart with exception of TT and maybe LMG is better. While SKS has only 10 bullets, the ironsights are much cleaner than M14. AKs are better in close range and suppressing fire and as accurate as M16 in semi-auto. Double barreled shotgun is better at mid-long distances. PPSh is the best SMG and full-auto in the game.

The Flamethrower is basically a god damn death laser wherein you never seem to light yourself on fire even when you charge directly into barricades and bunkers and go mad with the nozzle and yet the "knee mortar is OP". And even though the Japs get to utilize more Type 100's, keep in mind the Americans have the BAR, even on Guadalcanal. And saying that Americans get cucked because they have to use Springfields on one map is a little whiny when Jap rifleman have to run around with bolt actions on every map. well maybe I only play with cheaters then because in my experience its a tactical nuke with guaranteed kills anywhere and everywhere whereas the flamethrower is only great for a very short time within a very short range
it's incredibly easy to avoid getting killed by a flamethrower, it is all but impossible to avoid getting killed by a knee mortar, indeed it's even better than arty because arty can't shoot through windows to kill everything inside a building

The game Receiver is pretty /k/. There's basically an individual key for each and every action you can do with a firearm. One key to rack a slide, one key to cock a hammer, one key to remove a mag, one key to insert a mag, one key to put rounds in a mag, one key to remove rounds from a mag, and so on and so forth. The actual process of reload goes from just pressing 'R' to having to press potentially 5 keys, which I think can give a better sense of how you might find yourself fumbling in a stressful situation.

It's a pretty limiting game though. One player only, your only opposition is a flying drone that can taze you or a turret that is constantly spinning/scanning, however it's very unforgiving. You get tazed or shot and you're dead, period. You have to start over. The game is sort of like Slender in that you have to find a bunch of cassette tapes. The three firearms you can choose from are the M1911A1, Glock 17 with a conversion for select fire (basically a Glock 18), or a revolver which I THINK is a Smith and Wesson Model 10 or something like that.

There's a mod you can get though, I think called "Josh's Mod" which adds 6 more firearms. Schnellfeuer version of C96 (select fire, 20-rnd detachable mags, shoulder stock), a pump-action shotgun, a TT33, an HK USP (I think... possibly compact, can't remember), a bolt-action that can only be loaded one round at a time, aaaaand... oh yeah, a Thompson. M1928 I think, even functions in open-bolt instead of closed-bolt. Spent so many damn hours playing that game, beat it with every single firearm I think, all 9. Hard as fuck. Gets my heart racing when things get intense.

The 30 round AR mag we know today was created because our troops in vietnam were getting outgunned by AKs with 30 round mags. If you feel outgunned by AKs in a vietnam game, that's historical realism for ya.

For most of the war the M16 was issued with 20 round mags. When troops started getting outgunned by AKs, the hastily created 30 round mags for the M16 but they were never as reliable as the 20 rounders and they were harder to get.

if you put all teh graphic option to low or even modify the .ini file to lower it even more, oyu can make grass disappear, i do that for bridge of druzina map, lower the graphic to low and grass only appear within 20 meters, above that there's nothing

and let's not forgot about some bugged part of certain map where you can shoot through the ground without being seen

The people who make CoD don't care about historical/firearm accuracy. Tripwire does, at least to SOME extent. Here's some things you can find in CoD

The only problem RO2/RS has with this is the M1918A2 BAR. In my opinion, it should be impossible to aim accurately with it from the shoulder

While RO2 has CoD-like instant ADS after sprinting, ridiculously easy and accurate aim while moving, turning the gameplay into run and gun.
I don't see how the CoD comparison has anything to do with it though. CoD is a casual shooter that doesn't try to be anything else. RO2 is sold with the name of being a "hardcore realistic" shooter, which it by far is not.

Yes you can aim down the sights after sprinting, but it's shaky. You can't exactly go for a long sprint then stop, standing, and pick off someone running about 200m away. The irons also move around like crazy if you try to aim while moving, not to mention you can't aim while running. You can't even shoot while you're sprinting, so I don't see how it adheres to the definition of 'run and gun'. CoD is a fantastic example of a game that is NOT realistic. RO2 has a lot of realistic aspects, especially when you start off at Level 0 or Level 1. As you improve though, as you level up, your aiming becomes steadier, you can handle cover fire a little bit better, and so on. As far as realistic first person shooters go, RO2 is definitely amongst them, especiall for realistic WWII FPS games. If you don't consider it realistic even though they've put so much time and effort into doing so, then I can't help but believe either you never played it (meaning you're ignorant to the matter at hand), or you're trolling people who enjoy the game and can see its realistic merits.

To be fair the Arisaka rifles are better than the M1903A1, and their LMGs are better than the M1918A2. The fact you can shoulder-fire the M1918A2 and not the Japanese LMGs (not even the 6.5 chambered one) is fucking ridiculous. As for the M1919A6, meh. Heavy as fuck, slow reload, slow barrel change, its only real advantage is the huge capacity with the belts. Left extremely vulnerable when it's time to reload however, or to a lesser extent when it's time to change the barrels. As for SMGs, it's up for debate in the game, but IRL I imagine the Thompson was better than the Type 100 even though it was heavy as shit.

What was it, 10lb unloaded, 20-rnd mags would weigh over 1lb, and 30-rnd mag probably weighs almost 2lb, while a 50-rnd drum would easily weigh over 3lb. 230gr Ball .45 ACP weighs roughly 20-21 rounds per pound. On top of that you must add the weight of the mags themselves. .45 ACP is fucking hardcore compared to 8mm Nambu though. 8mm Nambu uses smaller and lighter bullets than 9x19mm and I believe it also has slower velocity. In short, 8mm Nambu is weaker in every way, shape, and form, than 9x19mm. Though to be fair 9x19 is quite a potent little cartridge. As for the Type 14 pistol, the fuck outta here with that shit. M1911A1 all the way.

I've helped lead the Japanese to victories against the Americans though. It requires A LOT of coordination and communication, but it is very much possible to accomplish. Just need everyone doing their respective jobs.
