t1 was more horror then action. t2 was more what could have been and also action. It is a harder choice then what is seems. A good comparison would be alien vs aliens. I'm that example there is enough room liking either choice. Where as t2 is essentially a remake of t1. If I had to make a choice it would be t1 it worked hard for its budget and will always be a classic. Though t2 is great too. So they are both great. Fun fact Lance Henriksen was meant to be the terminator in t1. Which I feel would be the better choice. As the terminators were suppose be able to blend in. And Arnie is far from that.

I love watching watching the behind the scenes of t2. The way they train with weapons shows the attention to detail they have.

Also I love how Linda Hamilton points out that Sarah Connor was not a feminist hero but a terrible mother who ran around teaching her kid some real antisocial skills and values.

I have a particular love for 80's and 90's action movies. They're over the top in a way that still isn't 'too much', they have shooting, and explosions, and graphic deaths! The stories are often simple but enticing and interesting enough that you don't mind. And they don't pull that Bourne movie bullshit, of fight scenes that keep changing perspective and moving the camera quickly to blur the action.

So I'd have to go with T2.

The stop motion in T1 didn't age very well. The special effects in T2 however still look amazing to this day. The liquid terminator stuff in particular is pretty great.

See, I was here to say that the stop motion in T1 is fantastic. It was pretty well done for stop motion, but it also has that jerky, surreal quality that all stop motion has that is both creepy and fitting for a skeletal robot.

I thought stop-motion T1 was the most frightening of the robots. And I saw T2 and T3 before I saw T1.

Considering what Reese laid on her about who and what John was to become, I'm not sure I'd agree. You don't get post-apocalyptic savior of mankind general leadership skills at West Point.
