Hey /k/, for my first gun iv'e been thinking about picking up this Vepr ak47 from Atlantic Firearms. Any thoughts or recommendations for a first ak?

My only complaint is it's going to be heavier than it has to be. It'll be great otherwise, but I'd much sooner get an slr-107.
And as far as ammo goes, I'd buy golden tiger for best results across the board.

Good choice, but get it from literally anyone else because the money you give AF will go straight to terrorism.

This guy is a retard.
They buy them from and importer who imports the sporting rifle configuration into the united States, and a company like Atlantic buys the sporting version in bulk. They change the furniture and add a bullet guide so that it can take ak mags and look like a cool AK. Molot is considering building a factory here in the USA, not all Russian companies are totally corrupt. Molot makes some of the most solid AK type stuff there is because it's an RPK by design.
I have a 54r, and 7.62x51, and 7.62x39, and 12 guage.

However OP, I would recommend buying the sporting version and do some really easy beginners gunsmithing. All you need to do is a drill and tap, and replace some parts, and u have the pic u shared. You could do it all yourself, but if you just want a solid cool gun right now go for it. Atlantic customer service is great.
