In DK we have a very small branch of special forces called the Sirius Patrol. Their job is to patrol and show presence in the vast uninhabited areas of Greenland.
Allthough they technically are SOF they are not as much meant for combat, its much more about pure survival and self-sustainability.

They patrol 2 people together for a duration of 2 years using dog sleds. In that time they only have a week or so break/vacation in Iceland.

To join you must be extremely harmonic and have a stable mind. You are not allowed to be married or have too strong bonds to your home.

I cant say anything about who has the "strongest" bonds, but I believe theese guys are worth mentioning in this thread.

That sounds really cool.

Some submarine fag on here convinced me it was them.

Whatever is one step below SF. Most militaries have some sort of "SF Lite" or "Infantry Premium Plus" units. Rangers, commandos etc. Despite not being "special", the training and operations are tough.
>>
>>33325482
I thought these people hated their lives. Especially subs.
>>
>>33325805
What does that have to do with the topic?
>>
>>33325824
You can't really have a good relationship with colleagues if you hate your job, can you
>>
Nothing compares to the bonds formed over a flaming barrel of human feces.
>>
>>33326162
You can hate it together with your colleagues.
>>
>>33324110
Sounds like they take their job very SERIOUSLY.

>>
Are navy standards high?
I wanted to go army cavalry originally but I have recurring leg pains when I run long distances due to my foot
Would I be able to become a submariner with something like that or should I give up/go full POG?

>>33326162
Retail worker here.
Yes. Yes you can.

I bet people have all kinds of crazy sex when they're on their 2 year patrol out in the middle of no where

Pilots tend to have a strong bonds, especially amongst fighter pilots. Something about flying fast brings people together.

No wartime Infantryman allowed...

Well fuck, I hope military POG nerds who do computer training really bond. Because people give a shit about that.

Tankers, I'd imagine. It takes a lot to be in a hot metal box with 3 other dudes when it smells like BO and ball sweat.

Fuck you denmark. only reason you started with those patrols, is to keep norwegians off greenland after we tried to annex our rightfull clay.
yes i mad, I wanted that job

You really want to be an active duty POG and hate life? If you're that serious do something on the reserve/guard side.
>>
>>33329088
I'd like to be a sub if possible, hence why I'm asking if the navy is usually more lax when it comes to that kind of shit
Otherwise yeah I'll probably try to get an IT job in AF
>>
>>33329279
You might like being on a sub. In my experience there are some chill people in the navy and many others with sticks up their asses though. My CMC used to be a submariner. Big guy, loved it.

submarines have a bunch of people in a long tube for up to 6+ months for a deployment.

It's comfy, you are in the ocean depths, waking up for dinner and only worrying about whether or not you want to eat chicken or baked fish while watching a TV show for 5-10 minutes, getting your coffee and proceeding to your watch station.

You get to talk to some real good guys, you don't have anything else better to do. You talk about your life, your finances, your car, your wife/gf, your hobbies, play D&D, touch each others dick and all that nice stuff. :)

Pretty nice for being in the military.

19d Cavalry Scout. Every day is Thursday.

There's a little room for it apparently.
>>
>>33323951
>What jobs in the military have people form the strongest bonds with each other?

Sailors out at sea swabbing out the heads and each others bungs.
>>
>>33326162
That's the secret. That bond is forged with the hammer of shared misery and hatred. All my closest friends from the Marines literally bonded over hating being in the Marine Corps. We still keep in touch regularly to this day.
>>
>>33329511
Talked with a sub guy at my work once, they've at least got treadmills in there.

Unrelated but I feel like it's worth posting. He told a story of a guy who died underway from running too hard and not getting enough oxygen since there's a lower amount in the air apparently. They just had to throw his body in the freezer for the rest of the time underway and his family only got to find out he passed away after they returned.
>>
>>33329068
Correct answer. You get real fucking close to your crew when you spend that much time in a tight box.

The French Foreign Legion creates some of the strongest bonds between légionnaires. The reason is it's the only way to have a propre unit including around 50 nationalities (for 152 in total in the Legion), and not a bunch of fuckers impossible to command.

This is achieved through harscher training, songs, a moral code known by Heart and traditions (see Camerone, they all spend Christmas together )

The Legion has a vast network of solidarity, wich incluses social care and benefits, retirement homes, legal council, vacation homes, etc... This was creates by Général Rollet, the "father of the Legion" in the 30s.

An example of such bond is that when a legionnaire is in deep need for help (usually fighting off a couple drunk opponents while being drunk himself) all he hs to do is shout "à moi la légion!" and if another légionnaire hears it, hé will drop fucking EVERYTHING and come give a helping hand.
>>
>>33329433
>time to hit the sack
>another crew member has already warmed up your bunk for you
:3
>>
>>33324415
They "only" pull 24 hour shifts, typically about 8 a month. It's not like it's just the two of them down there for weeks. If the weather is bad, they could in theory get stuck down there for 72 hours, but they aren't allowed to spend any more time than that on alert.

I'm debating whether to enlist in the regular army or become a légionnaire, probably too much of a pussy for the latter though

What unit in the us military has the highest espirit de corp? Airforce preferably because im already in and im getting bored of my job, but im willing to try and transfer to another branch.

Navy.

The most intimate and personal bond two men can possibly share.

I dont have too many close friends, my family is all alive and i love them ect but theyre 4000 miles away right now and im miserable everytime i visit as awful as that is to say.
