With enough craftsmanship do you think it is possible to make a supressor with a bike peg?

Sure, but if you have the skills and equipment to do it, you could make a much better one from scratch.

With enough craftsmanship, anything is possible.

Or just buy a Sig and use a Maglite body.
>>33307663
it wouldn't even be that hard. but old maglights exist, so...

Certainly, but just because something looks like a supressor, does not mean it is the best base for it.
Getting some sheet steel(needed anyway for the baffles) and using the peg as a form would be a much better way about it. Then you could unroll it when the general shape is formed, install the baffles, vent holes, and the rest, then roll it back up and weld it.
With the peg, you'd have to find a way to get baffles in there and secure while you try to weld it.

It would be since it already has the threads and all but they are pretty heavy so I'm not sure if it is the best choice.
Since you will be doing welding anyway I don't think its such a bad idea to start from scratch and just weld a nut in place and use that for your threads instead.
Do it right and it doesn't have to start out weighing 2< pounds.

t. Doesn't know how cans work or how to make them.
None of this is how this works. None of if.

someone once said something at some old gun show in some place a guy i knew went to about using an old maglite with some device some vendor may have been selling to make a "solvent trap" that may have been like one or two welds away from becoming something alot like a suppressor or something along those lines.
Not sure though.

No shit?
I met that guy and his Dad.
They were drinking Silver Bullets and setting up their table at the local gun show.
He had a bunch of pic related for $1500.
Said it's all good because it's a C&R gun.

Yeah must have just missed you, did the younger guy try to sell you his Marijuana alternative?

BMX-ing OP, you don't want to be using a peg for a suppressor. It'll be FUCKING heavy which will be absolutely stupid on a pistol and make the barrel droop a bunch on a rifle. Internal volume is enough for a pistol pretty much, for modest suppression if you make decent baffles, but the sheer mass of the thing is going to mess with slide/barrel function even with a booster. Just don't, 'kay? Look up solvent traps or maglite kits or whatever. Loads of stuff even on eBay. There's a guy selling various sizes of aluminum tubes with threaded caps as some sort of deep fry inline oil filter deal. Heck, even at Home Depot you can find decent 6061 tube to start working with, get some Alumiweld and a propane torch to put a solid plug in the back end then drill and thread it - in a jig if you don't have a lathe. Et-fucking-cetera. Look at silencertalk's archives for loads of info.

With enough craftsmanship, it's possible to make anything out of anything. The question is whether it's worth the bother.
