Russia was outnumbered but we shit on nato the whole time. when nato finally made it through our lines to their objective they found out that first platoon had taken their HQ and stole all of their supplies during their attack so they couldn't stay. we helped fetty and the cossack villagers fuck with an ambush nato all night and we ended the event by beating back and assault and chasing them all the way to their patrol base.

it was a great experience and i learned a lot about airshit guns that caused some suffering that could have been prevented if i had just taken a blankfire. my gun went down on the first day and i had to use a spare krink we had. The real ak-74 my battle buddie an i were using was jamming on every round because brown bear 5.45 blanks are too wide at the base. we were smashing the bolt closed on rocks just to shoot 1 round.

i only slept like 6 or 7 hours and was woken up by blank fire ever 30 minutes. I was always wet and running up hills all day sucks. but it was one of the most fun things i've ever done.

>>33301356
should have know right?
>>
>>33301374
That's awesome, glad here you guys won and had a good time.
5.45 blanks are finicky, 7.62 work a lot better and are a lot cheaper.
Getting woken by blanks is a majical experience haha, at gap we got woken by blanks at about the same interval the first night, second night I woke everyone up magdumping into some charging nato. You should see if you can make it to gap with us this year

yeah man the first time i woke up the blank fire was 8 cossack villagers volley firing on a friendly squad 50 meters behind my head towards the rear of our position. I woke up and jump out and started putting on my boots and i was shaking from the adrenaline as i was getting ready to run over. they called out it was friendly fire and i just spent 10 minutes shivering in my sleepingbag.

>you should see if you can make it to gap with us this year

Which SF? Army SF runs Crye AVSes along with almost everyone else. (Marsoc, Rangers, CAG/ACE) NSW runs MMACs, NSWDG runs 6094k and NCPC/NJPC as far as we know. But as far as you're concerned

If you have money to throw away get an AVS. It's everything your list has, but you'll need 750-1200 for a full kit.

If you want a good baseline kit I have an AWS OCPC I need to sell, in medium. Oh also you should probably know that plate carrier sizings go off of the size of the plates.

This.

The only time a 6094 or 6094-like design trumps the JPC is side plates and better full cummerbund (specifically with the LBT, though. Not sure about copy brands like the OCPC or slav brands but the LBT cummerbund is fantastic). If you're going skeletonized then the JPC wins. 6094 also does have slightly better comms set up with the diagonal PALS loops for PTT's.

that it's not, but it would be alright for ops in a technical truck where IEDs are of concern.
I say that for 1. it's bulky 2. balc has a large surface area covered via 3a armor which will protect from shrapnel.

>>
>>33305050
The blanks I bought costed more than actual ammo.
>>
>>33305050
from what i saw people bought between 300 and 800 rounds and just ripped it off the whole event. There was a truck with a 240bravo on it that was shooting full auto. I was told it was hooked up to a propane and air tank. it sounded like a real gun, looked like a real gun, and had muzzle blast and flash like a real gun. it was fucking sick.

its honestly not more expensive then going to a /k/ meet. i usually shoot 800 rounds of green tip at every meet i go to. so blanks really wouldnt be a big deal. all you need to be miltia is woodland camo, a chicom, a gat, and a ruck.

>>
>>33305354
That's pretty nice then. Cali would have more nogunz then other states I'd imagine cause terrible gun laws so that's cool.
>>33305381
Climbing yes rapelling no but it's fairly simple but if you do it wrong you land hard and break your legs.

I would say no. I've literally never had to use it outside when I was doing it as a sport. Unless you're some HOOAH guy and jumping outta Little bird's at 2 am then it's not terribly useful but rock climbing is a LOT of fun.
>>
>>33305381
>Is there any value in learning this skill and being equipped for it?

you can go up and down things
>>
>>33305381
I have some yes. Military rappelling & fastroping stuff and a little bit of civilian climbing.

Fun stuff. As for it's usefulness, it's a nice extra skill to have, but unless you're in excessively (excessively!) mountainous terrain or you have access to helicopters to cart you around no real reason to have a bunch of shit for it on shooting gear. It's funny to occasionally see guys with helicopter straps on their gear for no other reason than they saw operators wearing them.

If you have the time, money, or access I will say that climbing is a great full body workout that is more interesting than another day at the gym.

HOLY FUCK STREET NUMBER CAPTACHA FUCK OFF
>>
>>33305381
w2c rifle?
>>
>>33305381
Yes to both. Taught it for the Boy Scouts for years.

I doubt there's really any tactical value in learning climbing beyond how to use ascenders or a prusik cord, but rappelling is a great thing to know how to do simply because it's applicable pretty much anywhere there's more than a 1-story building and it doesn't require the insane levels of fitness climbing in tactical gear does.

All that said, 3 points
1. Either or both are fun workouts that build functional muscles that are generally not trained in standard weightlifting, as well as cardio
2. Kinda pointless to have all the gear to do either on your standard kit simply because of how situational it is.
3. Learn how to tie both a Swiss seat and a bowline on a bight simply because they're great for rescue work.
>>
>>33305439
This.
Granted retention lanyards aren't nearly as bad as full on climbing harnesses that I've seen some dudes with. Not in thread but other mil larp forums.

>>

>>
>>33305540
Well I don't really get it. They make you look opr8r as fuck so maybe for milsim that's chill but they literally just get in the way as someone who's used them. They sit over your holster and make anything on your right side harder to get to. They ride high if you have them stretched around back so they don't flop and they ride lower so it's out of the way if you have them biner'd in close but then they flop around.
>>
>>33305567
Oh, addendum: On all my outdoors gear I do always use climbing strength rated d-rings rather than el cheapo office ones. You never know when you might need that ring to have some strength. I have before used one to help pull a stuck truck out of mud, for example.
>>
>>33305574
Like I said, it's funny to watch 'tarded people wear them because of monkey see-monkey do.

The doggo handlers that wore them had them out of the way since the straps didn't need to be in the right spot for actual helicoptering.
>>
>>33305615
Aah yes. Well I'm just saying as someone who's strapped into helicopters before they're a lot less cool than you'd think.
Larp's fine but yeahaha funny when there's chemsticks and clips and gp pouches everywhere. This thread's not really bad about it. Some guys with 2 or 3 chemsticks on their setup but that's fine for sudden midnight rave dance party emergency use. I found the airsofters particularly bad for overloaded stuff for larp. Let me see if I can find it but one guy was running around with his "DEVGRU" kit with a T-11 parachute, thigh bag with fast ties and chemsticks out the ass, the lanyard, a fake Eotech quad tube and a (I hope) fake breather unit + oxygen mask and tube. Was fucking hilarious because fake or not all that shit's still like 50lb so I gotta hand it to him openly wanting to run around with all that shit on playing airsoft takes some mental fortitude to not just take it all off after10 minutes of having to run with those awful jump bags.

I think we're speaking the same language. With overloaded gear, it's very interesting to watch the evolution of gear on somebody's first deployment as it goes on. All the GP pouches and extra, extra, extra pouches slowly start going away.

And then there is a ton of military specific gear which civilians just won't be carrying that rounds out all the pouches military wear. I had to have a digital camera and a whole evidence kit on my gear, along with tons of tools, and explosives stuff - but it's nothing that would ever be relevant to civilian gear, even if you went to the most extreme internet fantasy SHTF scenerio I still wouldn't be carting around a bunch of 2590 batteries as a civilian.

The whole .milsim thing apes the look without aping the mindset.

I can't find it. I think it was a private video.

It was basically this

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/29/65/01/296501e93bb14da190834ddae13341fd.jpg

But then add a Parachute bag, thigh bag + straps which is just an insane amount of stuff to be running around with. I hope they know that most of that stuff gets ditched pretty fast. Kinda hard to run with something tying both your legs together.
>>
>>33305744
It's absolutely ridiculous the amount of situational bullshit I had to carry on my kit when I was active.
>3 colors of chemlight + IR, 3 of each for a total of 12

There's no way any EOD branch would not have more C4 than your body has room for in their gear. Navy EOD guys tend to carry more drop charges than other branches too.

I know that feel. Especially the batteries nonsense, it gets absurd sometimes, especially watching infantry dudes (who are already loaded down) have to figure out how to carry enough spare batteries to keep their CREW running 24/7.

The EOD multitool ain't bad though, that punch is very multiuse.

>>
>>33311372
That's not woodland camo it's CCE. Different brands have slightly different CCE shades, and SF buy a lot of aftermarket shit.
Arktis CCE is more contrasted than issued Felin or OPEX, which are themselves more contrasted than the faded F2 you can still see being used.

W..what?

Anyways, French SF has been seen wearing Cryes , and it would make sense for them to wear woodland, as it's very close to CCE. They also wear multimeme. I wouldn't be surprised if the two on the left were indeed French.

well he said foreground, and kinda hard to tell but that would most likely be the guy in jeans as he's closest to the camera.

It's tag, and it says it takes tag rampage inserts but evidently they don't make them anymore.

You know most of the time innamil we used them to mark IEDs or to mark boundries of cleared paths across roads for large movements of people.

IR chemlites were also useful as IED markers abd as ghetto friendly markers in NODs if you didn't have a battery powered strobe.

Non-tactically, they were useful in-camp to mark hazards at night like tent lines or poles.

As much as I like shooting at targets from a line, it's really only fun at meets and other social settings. If I'm going by myself or with a friend or two, drills are the best way to get more out of using ammo.

I really like my Prana Brions. Fit really well, not tactical looking, super comfy, water resistant, made for outdoors, muted colors.
>>
>>33314985
well, as you may know, I am a big booty individual. My waist is 34ish, but the measurement around my ass might be 38-40. maybe I'm exaggerating, I need to remeasure. So I usually wear a 36 pant and depending on the cut of the pant, it's super baggy and needs a belt because the pant wants to sit on my waist or it's painfully tight because it wants to sit on my hips.

I need something that sits at waist level because I want to wear my gunbelt with it. Apparently the tad coverts sit high like that so that's why they're the current front runners. That's also why I wish I could just wear cyres because of the stretch panel on the back.

Yeah, duder the surplus places near me have piles of the things. And the coyote colored ones weren't the "early" versions, those were USMC specific spesul ones made after they switched camo. The early ones were Woodland without the full MOLLE across the front.

IOTVs are also in local places by the pileload. Mostly because UCP is crap and the vest is crap. Plus, for some reason they are expensive as fuck even though aftermarket options are better.
