They're... ok. Not great. It's just a 5.56 AK with Jewish-exclusive furniture. Definitely overpriced. It's just a typical heavy long stroke steel rifle. Unwieldy and obsolete. Do it if you have a boner for the design and can get it built well for that price. Otherwise, there are 5.56 AKs to be had that are higher quality for less.

I bought a century Galil (marked as a Galil before century had to change name to Golani) a few months back and it's a decent rifle

My biggest complaints are how it mangles brass and the magazine situation. seriously, like 4/5 surplus magazines I've tried have been absolute trash, those orlite mags are way to expensive and the tapco mags look like aids (but they work) but then again it's not a "real" galil so my experience is probably worthless

What they dont telling you is in the 70's the idf was looking for replacements for the fn fal and the uzi, 2 designs came to the table. Yisrael galil with the galil you know today and the second design from uziel gal (inventor of the uzi) uziel gal's rifle was a whole lot better than the galil and the ak but the imi tried to kill it by convincing rafael eitan(chief of general staff) that the galil is better.

I had one as well, I opened up the ejection port by 1/2" and never had a problem with mangled brass afterward. I also found that fitting an AR mag well adapter fixed the magazine supply issue and worked better than the original mags, downside is that it takes some file work to get it to fit properly.
