AR15 chambered in 9mm with a dedicated 9mm lower that takes Glock mags. It's so ugly to use a .223/5.56 lower. You could eventually SBR the thing and increase its' sexiness by a couple times more. 9mm is cheap and abundant. Not a terrible Home Defense round either.

I didn't want to recommend a .22LR semi because ammo can be hard to come by, .22LR gets boring quickly and they are pretty dirty, increasing need for regular maintenance if you want a reliable gun.
