Where can I find an outlaw or jw 2000. I guess canadaammo doesnt sell the oulaw anymore and the jw2000 is like $300 on one site. Is $300 for a new one a decent price?

CGN maybe?
>>
>>33291162
$300 is a decent price for a new one.

Seems relevant, I got an email from Max's campaign on his gun platform.

>Dear Anon, the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights has graded the gun policies of all the candidates. I’m the only one who got an A+.
>It’s because my policy is the biggest change in favour of gun owners. And it’s something we can win on.
>Double firearms license length from 5 to 10 years;
>Repeal all magazine capacity restrictions;
>Classify firearms on function, not appearance;
>Make any classification changes go through Parliament, not the RCMP and cabinet;
>Reimburse gun owners for loss of property from previous government gun grabs, and protect firearms owners in the future;
>Make safety courses more available across the country, especially rural Canada.
>With my firearms legislation, many popular guns like the AR-15 would become non-restricted, because gun legislation wouldn’t be based on fear anymore.
>The Ruger 10/22 magazine issue would be gone.
>A trip to the range will mean you get to practice shooting, not reloading.
>>
How much more are Canadians paying for firearms than our American neighbors? I can't help feel gouged everytime I look at ammo prices, or for a glock. A used gen3 glock is more expensive than a brand new one in the states...
>>
>>33291325
I'd say its between 25-45% more. Depends on the firearm though. Inflation is a bitch.
>>
>>33291325
Depends on the guns. Cheap knockoff Chinese shit can be considerably cheaper than US prices. The M305 vs M1A for example, or the differing cost of the SKS in Canada or USA.

However, in terms of ammo we have the short end of the stick.
>>
>>33291052

Are the ATI stocks for the SKS of good quality?
I'd like to buy another SKS so I can keep one in stock form and then put the ATI stock on for the pistol grip and adjustable stock on the other.

I dunno, but I was looking at the page just now so I could have everything in order, and noticed that.

The support and breaks given to students was the only thing I liked that came from Harper, so it figures the Liberals would axe it. Frankly, it boggles and mind and I can't think of a single good reason to do it, since breaks on secondary education helps everyone, whether you're fresh out of highschool or looking for a career change (like I was).

None of this is really gun related, but hey if I save a /k/omrade a few bucks, I won't feel bad about it.

Pro-gun guy, would kill the "prohib by name" list, and magazine capacity limits among other things. Generally libertarian.
From his FB page:
Double firearms license length from 5 to 10 years;
· Repeal all magazine capacity restrictions;
· Classify firearms on function, not appearance;
· Make any classification changes go through Parliament, not the RCMP and cabinet;
· Reimburse gun owners for loss of property from previous government gun grabs, and protect firearms owners in the future;
· Make safety courses more available across the country, especially rural Canada.

Any tips on etiquette? How exactly do you guys clean up your casings after a day of shooting?

Also, what's a good spot to avoid ATVs and what not?
>>
>>33297120
As far as picking up casings, if you have a magnet it's good for picking up steel cased stuff, otherwise I'd only really bother with shotgun shells. As far as avoiding ATVs, just try to find a spot facing away from the nearest trail, and aim downwards into a hill.
>>
>>33297077

Absolutely, shootable land this close to Ottawa is a precious resource.

>>33297120

I'd wager it'd be best to head out and take a look to find a place with a backstop and what the trails are like.
>>
>>33297164
Where do you buy such a magnet? Like, it's just a magnet on a stick eh?
>>
>>33297226
As in something that attracts magnetic metals. Stronger the better. You can just sweep the area with it and pick up any steel cased stuff you shot easily enough.

See that P5, near the middle of the map? Our shooting spot was just north of there, right about where the access road intersects a trail. That's why we had so much snowmobile and ATV traffic. Now that spring is coming it'll probably be even busier.
My advice is to park your car in that same lot, but then head south across the road and hike into the wild maybe half a kilometer before you and your friends start blowing your hot loads everywhere. The more distance there is between you and the trails, the less likely it is that you'll trigger the granola-munching urbanites who drive all the way out here just to flush the smog out of their lungs.

They have a bunch of military surplus vehicles parked out front, it's pretty neat, especially the AA gun in front of the door. The store itself is smallish but it's pretty well organized and the people are generally pretty friendly.
>>
>>33301489
A lot of people give it shit for muh full size, muh slide mounted safety, muh european style mag release, but I have a 92s and I think it's a great gun. I find that it's very comfortable and feels natural to shoot, although manlets with small hands report problems, but I've never had any. Don't expect to cc it unless you have experience with full size pistols or you're a big guy.

I paid $230 for mine about 3 years ago, but I'm from the land of the free™. Your mileage may vary in canadaland.
>>
>>33301659
Thanks for the input. You've never had any of the horrific problems I hear about, like the slide falling off, have you?
>>
>>33301685
Never a single issue with it. It was a well used police trade-in when I got it, and I've put ~500 rounds through it since and never had a problem.

Having the slide fly back and hit you in the face isn't a story, but it isn't something you'll ever likely run into. It's almost universally in pistols with tens of thousands of rounds fired and isn't a design or manufacturing flaw so much as it is just pure fatigued metal. You can nearly always catch it before the failure point by the presence of stress fractures.

The recoil spring may need replacing after a few thousand rounds, but it's child's play. Even a novice owner could disassemble, replace the spring, and reassemble the pistol in less than 30 seconds, with nearly no chance of fuckup.

It certainly is viable for import, it meets restricted categorization.

c) no hints or anything to indicate this changing anytime soon

The US immigration laws are actually pretty lax compared to most nations. They're about on-par with Canada's. It's objectively harder to get into Jamaica than the United States- at least, naturalizing is.

>I bet you supported the Iraq war too
I'm the other guy, and I didn't. But if you think the Canadian MIC is anything like the US one, you're a fool.

Getting our troops more funding would help them in many ways that go beyond 'war profiteering', sufficient ammunition to train with, as well as proper provisioning during times of peace and war, not to mention continuing our relatively high standards of training and discipline which let us be able to mostly subsist on such a small regular force.

And even then, there's plenty of heavy equipment that our soldiers could use, as their time in Afghanistan showed us. General Rick Hillier knew his shit, which is why he made the government pry open its wallet and buy Leopard 2's, as well as rent some Chinook helicopters from one of our allies. And to thank him they made him retire after only about 3 years on the job, and put another silent yes-man in his place.

Just off the top of my head, some helicopters for improved tactical airlift capacity would be a good thing to have, since the country is still so big that anything less than a C-130 for strategic airlift is going to be too small. And maybe if we're going to have a fleet of subs, we can buy some that fucking work. Like NEW ones, instead of someone's second-hand diesels that break down on the way home from the dealership. Aside from that (and the stuff we're already building or in the process of replacing), all our troops really need is enough of everything we already have to make sure they're fully equipped and ready to go at all times.

To bad glaciers move faster than our procurement system.

>Sounds like a pretty short list of screw ups compared to most politicians
I had more but I don't recall them as readily as those issues I mentioned, since I didn't expect people to still be doing this based Harper shit. Plus, you get sick of reiterating the same arguments over and over.

>we don't need a defensive army, just to be safe
>we don't want that army to be well equipped and well trained
I'm not afraid of any of those three. Frankly the US is the biggest technical military threat to Canada, and they're more likely to have a civil war than invade us right now.

Not to mention, there's something to be said about the benefits of keeping the fires of chaos from reaching our doorstep before we do something about them.

Very good, they're steadily climbing. They are $369 now at Frontier. Also at the end of the cycle for CanAm they were selling them for $299. I jut re-acquired one, they are really fun shotguns, definitely get one.

>>33292480
>Tfw when walk into Frontier seeing their M44's are out of stock
>ask if they still have any
>get last one unlisted and just sitting in the back for the $399

So fucking glad I got that gun when I did, they're super handy and fun. Good news though, if you are on the EE on CGN M38's and M44's are popping up all over at reasonable prices right now. In fact I believe some are a better deal than mine.

Yeah I was shaky about doing business with Marstar in case I had a problem and the way he straight up insult groups of customers/would-be customers but that really put the nail in the coffin.
