Honestly, steel is fine. It's dirtier and less precise than good ammo, but otherwise it's fine. It does not "wear out" any parts faster as the steel used in the case is much softer than the steel used in the gun and even some of the brass used in brass cased ammo.

It doesn't really matter how cheap a shit you run as long as you clean your rifle after. A lot of it is corrosive as shit

Tulammo is fine.
The bimetal jackets will wear out your barrel faster because the steel used is harder and more abrasive than a copper jacket.

You may also see occasional case ruptures (non-catastrophic) or other weird issues (no primer holes punched) that don't affect function.

Stuck cases are a common problem so find a 5mm brass dowel to drop down the muzzle when it happens.

You should have decent reliability. It will wear out a barrel slightly faster but unless you have a special snowflake match grade big dick money barrel the cost savings on ammo will be greater than the cost of a replacement barrel.
