Purchased my first gun yesterday!
Pic related. (9mm version)
Did I do good /k/?
>XD
Not good.
>>33273478
whats wrong with it?
>>33273487
The grip safety if broken will completely lock the gun up and replacing the sights on them is a collossal pain in the ass from how stuck on they are yet they have a tendency to sheer off unexpectedly.
I've put about 1,000 rounds through my dad's fullsize 9mm XD with no stoppages or any sort of malfunction but I won't be quick to start carrying one. They're not as proven or even duty grade like a Glock, M&P or Sig.

what if i plan on just using it for home defense and
not using it as a shovel?
>>33273445
It's fine. Could've done worse.
>>33273445
mmmmmmmmm
dat grip zone on the mod.2 is fresh to death
just fyi, it feels exactly like haveing my cock in your hand. so now you know what having my cock in your hand feels like.
You should have gone with the .45acp version, but I'm proud of you for not being scared off by the cringy gripzone tm on the grip.
When I get mine I'm going to dremmel off that shit, and inlay skateboard tape in the depression.
>>33273633
Oh, also make sure to submit the mail-in-rebate. I think Springfield is giving a few free magazines and a holster to anyone who bought one.

>>33273445
Did great. It's a great gun. Do not listen to these fags saying it's bad.
>>33273615
Thing is, all of those broken guns are the result of shooting it, not throwing it at a tree or some dumb shit. Then again, you should be fine with it but I would recommend getting a Glock 17/19 over it.
>>33273529
lol what the fuck are you on about? Go peddle your agenda elsewhere. Xd is proven reliable gun by any metric
>>33273445
>GRIP ZONE
Why?
>>33273445
GRIP ZONEEEEEEEEE
Aside from that memery it's a fine gun. XDM is a better buy though, upgrade sometime.
>>33273707
Grip zoooooone...
>>33273703
>Xd is proven reliable gun by any metric
Except it isn't. The only noteworthy person to shoot XD's extensively is Rob Leatham. That's it. I'm sorry that you took my opinion as a personal attack and it has flared you up. XD's are shit and HK/Glock is miles better.
>>33273732
>Hk is miles better.
You're clearly a new fag to guns.

Yeah thanks just did that right now!

You're retarded

My dad has a 9mm XD Subcompact and a G19
The XD has better ergonomics, trigger, and less recoil
My USP Compact is better than both of them
>>33273794

I get it. You're retarded man...

>>33273445
>grip zone
What kind of fucking retard wouldn't know what to grip?
Why do you need to designate a "grip zone."
>>33273908
Lol what retard thinks this is why it was made?
>>33273870
>>33273884
>oh no
>someone is badmouthing my precious precious XD

>muh grip zone
I don't even own an HK or a Glock, I can actually recognize an objectively good gun from an objectively shitty one. Stay mad.
I'll throw you a bone. I shoot Berettas, go for it.
>>33273908
It didn't bother me at all that it was on the gun... I tested it at the range that gun shop had along with a glock 19 and it felt better to shoot the xd that's why I went with it. It's my first gun so it's not like I don't plan on buying any other brands
>>33273932

Cringe.
>>33274220
why did you do this
>>33273935
Well hope you do enjoy it. Make sure to buy a cleaning kit and plenty of ammo.
>>33273708
WRONG
get on that grip zone son.
>>33274234
I liked it.
>>33273445
>grip zone
Should have asked us first so we could meme you into getting a Glock 19.
>>33274220
Fucking kek
Perfectly sums up how autistic every XD thread is.
>>33274220
You fuckin' nigger. Not using>>33273847
That was funny shit.
You're better off with a Hi-Point my dude
>>33274626
I always felt like that side area was just super smooth and someone was like, Oh, we should put something grippy here and just jotted down "grip zone" so remind themselves. Then Springfield was like "fuck, we late" and just snatched up his incomplete design and has been making them this way ever since.
>>33275066
Should rename it autism zone.
How's the XDs in .45?
>>33275083
I'd give them a solid xD rawr
>>33275095
m8 I'm serius
>>33275143
I'm complete.
>>33275162
Dang it, I messed it up.
Real question is if I should get a Sig 2022?
>>33275214
I would also like to know if these are shit or not.
>>33274220
Good post anon
>>33275214
>>33275230
It's an entry level Sig. It's fine for the money.
>>33275214
I handled one side by side with a P226. It definitely feels cheaper. Maybe it's just the fact that it's plastic. The trigger was kind of meh to me. I thought the single action break was too far back for my liking. It's certainly a nice value though. I've seen them as low as $350 before. Unfortunately I've never shot one. Have you handled one at a gunshop yet?
>>33273445
I'm not a huge fan of the grip safety as well. Had a friend with a .40 cal 1st gen XD, and that sucker was a pain in the ass, had to practically white knuckle the gun to get it to fire.. I'd imagine they've fixed it since, Other than that, I haven't heard anything too terrible about them
>>33275214
Mechanically, they're basically P226es with polymer frames, so they're great if you want classic SIG quality but you're on a budget and don't mind having practically no aftermarket options.
>>33275261
>comparing an $1100 gun to a $300 gun
>definitely feels cheaper
no shit, really?
It's crazy. On the internet everyone shoots sigs, glocks, etc.
Yet the majority of people irl I know shoots xd and has never had an issue. You did fine. Memes and new kids on the internet will hate on you, but the reality is it's a perfectly suitable firearm with a competitive price for its quality versus bigger name brands.
>>33275314
Yeah.
>This thread
>STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE!!!!111!!!
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>33273633
pretty much
at least you didn't get something in .40 or something from a no name gangbanger manufacturer
am i the only one who thinks the XD's grip is like really blocky and uncomfortable? It feels like holding on to a wooden block.
>>33276362
You need new hands.
>>33276362
Everyone with normal hands that doesn't think glock ergos are actually good. The grip textures are awful on the originals and I never bothered looking at the 2.0
I was actually looking at the XDs in .45 for someone else but would rather settle on a Kahr first.
>>33275315
>Yet the majority of people irl I know shoots xd and has never had an issue.
It's because casual gun owners buy XD pistols. They will never go near shooting 1,000 rounds a year or any meaningful round count
