>Blatantly rip off Mauser design after getting BTFO in Spanish-American war
Pic related, Model 93 Spanish Mauser and Springfield 1903.
Can Americans invent anything?

You're a clever one.

Not much, just a certain 1950s assault rifle that's so damn good that other countries have been known to retire their '70s-'80s indigenous designs and replace it with ours.
>>33271638
>BTFO in the Spanish American war.
All of my wat
Ripping off implies we did not pay mauser royalties which we did you stupid cunt. Also, we fucked the spainiards shit.
>america invents longstroke gas piston
>every country after copies it for their automatic rifles
Can the rest of the world invent anything?

He's not wrong; the superior rate of fire imbued by the Mauser is the reason we started looking for a Krag replacement.
>tfw Fudds in the Ordnance Department kept us from having a Mauser in the first place
>>33271701
The infringing patents were for stripper clips, magazine, bolt sleeve, and extractor.
Since Mauser's design was an amalgamation of earlier works from other people there were no patents that would cover the action itself.

Expand on this if you don't mind. I'm curious.

They were obsessed with maintaining strict control over how much ammunition the soldier expended in combat. That's the reason the Army took so long to widely adopt a repeater, and for the magazine cutoff in the Krag and M1903. Basically they wanted a technological fix to a doctrinal problem.
>>33271727
Ya got a point there, but explain in the Fudds please.
>>33271769
>Basically they wanted a technological fix to a doctrinal problem
Almost like the A2's burst fire.. really activates your almonds.
>>33271676
The World Wide Web was developed by Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist at CERN
Your schoolsystem really is that bad, huh?
>>33271838
Makes even less sense for the A2 because after WWII it became widely accepted that volume of fire at ranges inside of 300 yards was a primary deciding factor in military battles

hmmm

The internet predates the WWW.
You are probably too young to remember things like Telnet and FTP.
>>33271840
And America had paved the way for that by developing military extended LAN connections, the infrastructure of which makes the WWW functional to begin with.
>>33271638
What do you want us to tell you? The Germans have been perfecting the art of killing other Germans for years.

Politically. In PR, the spanish military and our militias were beginning to push you back in an offensive but the Spanish Crown decided to surrender. Also, have your senate repeal Section 6 of our constitution and administer a version of the second amendment, please and thank you.

BTFO LOL
>Be German
>Become American
Everything good about Germany has subsequently left to become something good about America, like rockets, heirship to Rome, or nationalism.
>>33271950
Try arguing that with Brazil. Or maybe it was Argentina. I'd like to look it up but I can't be bothered.
>>33271985
Too bad the German Americans are being replaced by Mexicans

Far too obvious, troll, stick to things like "Germany could have won WW2 if (insert literal Bible-tier miracle here)" threads
