In theory, an equal amount of force is still being applied. The mass lost from the reciprocating weight is made up for by the increased acceleration. That's assuming a full powder burn, though. But most 12ga loads are fast burning enough for that to not be an issue.

Luckily auto 5s are highly tweakable with the friction ring system so I doubt it'll be too big of an issue.

Basically the entire barrel reciprocates, and there's a friction retardation system around the outside of the mag tube which is adjustable. It's neato, especially since it's ostensibly the first semiauto shotgun design.
