Should I strip and clean my new 1911 before shooting it for the first time? How many rounds should I put into it before cleaning it again and how many for the break in?
No I'm not gonna fucking google it.

What?

cleaning 1911s can fuck up the finish and wear out the rifling. You're better off just spraying it down with wd40 and wiping it dry.

>wiping it dry
Are you kidding me anon? You have to leave that shit on so it'll protect the finish.

There's never a good reason not to clean any firearm after shooting it.
Also, get over yourself and google this shit.

Yeah man, everyone knows you leave in on. Make sure you get a lot in all the moving parts and you should be able to go at least 5k rounds without cleaning

I clean my guns every 2-3 times after I fire them.
Am I fucked?

Clean your gun
Go to the range
Load a round
Point the muzzle at your head
Pull the trigger to check functionality.

Yes.
Clean after every range trip.
Depends on the make. Colt and Springfield don't have a break-in because they're made correctly. Kimber and Boutique guns are unnecessarily tight and usually recommend 500 rounds before you should count on it working properly.

This guy is old school. Go with the wd-40 method and if anything starts to jam during the break in period just add more wd-40

Thats about what i usually do. Unless ive been shooting some real dirty ammo.

It already has a bit of oil in it, but it wouldn't hurt to clean in it and use regular gun oil/lube.
Cleaning it does not hurt it and ignore the wd40 posts.
get a bucket and fill it with wd-40 and place the 1911 in it with the slide locked back. this makes sure the wd-40 goes throughout the gun and cleans it. you may want to dry off the outside to have a better grip, but other than that you can just start firing.
