Are there any sword fighting techniques that can defeat an opponent with a gun?
Practitioners of both eastern and western martial arts agree that cutting the gun in half is the way to go.

This desu, you should totally try it

Basically "surprise motherfucker" is your best hope. Ambush the fucker and dont let him shoot. Same tatics as any melee vs gun it will jist be a bit more effective than others is all. As far as facing off you are still tuller drill minus a foot or two and good luck concealing that shit. So if one splits hairs and goes out of their way to make it a possibly sure there are tactics sort of. If one is pragmatic not a chance in hell and get a gun

Yes. Have a gun in your other hand.
But seriously, look up victorian fencing treatises, you might find something useful there.

>FBI 2014 Statistics on Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted
>In 2014, 51 law enforcement officers died from injuries incurred in the line of duty during felonious incidents.
>None were killed by a knife or other cutting instrument
>48,315 Officers assaulted while performing their duties in 2014
>2.0 percent of officers were assaulted with knives or other cutting instruments (951 officers)
>13.2 percent of officers who were assaulted with knives or other cutting instruments were injured
So in 2014 there were no individuals who died from injuries involving a knife or other cutting instrument, 951 officers were assaulted with knives, only 3 of these officers received injuries as a result of the assault, the three assailants in these incidents were detained by the officers involved.
Clearly they did not try to cut the gun in half, what amateurs.

>951 officers assaulted with knives or other cutting instruments
>13.2% of officers who were assaulted with knives or other cutting instruments were injured
>13.2% of 951 = 125.532 officers injured when assaulted with knife or cutting instrument
You need to work on your math skills...

If you get in melee range, anything will do really. There is nothing specifically "gun vs sword", it's a matter of preparation for an ambush or something, there is nothing fair in a gun vs sword scenario, so there's no need for a specific technique, they are a whole category of weapons apart. Get in close and just strike the guy any way you want...
The important part is happening before the swordsman is close enough to strike anyway.
Remember when gray fox or cyborg ninja or whatever you want to call him threw his sword at the metal gear? Yea do that, that will stop anyone with a gun.

Chaff Grenades, which is basically flakes of aluminium foil.
>>33261403
proportionally, that's a weird looking sword
>>33263289
You were saying?
>>33260905
Yes, by ending him rightly
>>33260905
Bullet proof sheilds and helmets work very well. Against someone who is experienced and expecting you w/rifles could try to flank but...
>>33260955
I think Mythbuster already tried that, it's pretty difficult to cut a well made gun.
>>33263491
That technique is too powerful anon!
It should be against the geneva convention
>>33263905
Nigh impossible
Swords can't cut through 1.5mm thick steel armour.
But anon was doing the meme

Those who say Griffith did nothing wrong need to be round up in camps
>>33264112
I wholeheartedly agree.
>>33264112
Yeah, a woman looks like this when they get "raped".
Griffith did literally nothing wrong. Those were his men, he can do as he pleases.
>>33264210
At that point her brain was already fucked. Keep in mind he also would have left her to be violently murdered by apostles.
>>33260905
You would have a hell of a lot better chance with a sword than with an empty gun or knife.
The biggest reason soldiers don't carry swords anymore is that they already have to carry a ton of shit already. And even then some carry machetes or Tomahawks
>>33260905
Seppuku, if you have a gun.
>>33264210
>Those were his men, he can do as he pleases.
He failed the responsibility that his authority derived from.
He "can" do as he pleases just like I "can" take a shit in the top tank of your toilet, but that doesn't change that it is wrong.
>>33260905
no.
>>33263539
Spot the teenager.
>>33260905
seppuku will prevent gun death
dont believe me? try it.
>>33260905
Yeah, the Japanese perfected it. The move is called seppuku. Basically, you take the blade and stab yourself in the gut with it. Doesn't hurt the shooter at all, but it denies them the kill and that's all you can hope for.

any blade > any gun

Ride shotgun and tell the driver to drive you closer
Modern cavalry charge
If you're within about 10 meters, really a knife would outdo the gun in most cases. Charging movement. Swords doubly so. Main issue is they aren't concealable and if you're not in that kind of close range the sword-holder is out of luck.
>>33260905
Deflect the bullets
>>33260905
if you can disarm a gun-user with your bare hands (and you usually can't but it's doable) then you should be able to do it with a sword
as for technique, the faster the better

No.
