Some guy was going to make a music video. Movie students, I though he and his buddies were serious. Came over to me and picked up about a dozen uniform sets and various other effects. Not that valuable stuff but still a thou's worth to repurchase. I used to be a nice guy, so all I asked was to get my stuff back when they were done.

I got my stuff back only three months after the video was done, after poking them for it half a dozen times. Some of it was broken, some of it real dirty, nothing was cleaned. I didn't get any rewards; no box of chocolate, only a post-it note with a one line thanks. They didn't even bother to enclose a dvd copy of their video.

Mandatory NRA memberships are usually becuase the NRA actually offer gun club liability insurance at a better rate than other insurance companies. Of course the requirement is that the range becomes NRA affiliated.

Honestly, it's hardly that big a deal IMO. They do have the unadvertised 10 dollar a year membership, and you still get all the benefits like free 2500 coverage for your own collection. Most clubs don't really check if you renew anyway.

I work in a gun store and we had a cop who insisted several of the guns we were selling were illegal for various reasons, including but not limited to; a gun having a slide fire stock, a KSG was an SBS, the m249s was a machine gun and one pistol in our used case was a police trade in and had a emblem on it.
I said "well sir you're in luck, there's 3 ATF agents doing a compliance check here today and I'm sure they would be more than happy to hear about our illegal firearms and mupitial felonies."
He shoots back about me being a smartass and he was gonna comedown here with the SWAT team to confiscate our guns.
I say" I'm serious sir, they have been here the last 2 days in the back office, I'll walk you back there right now and introduce you."
He follows me to the back office and I show him to the room where my manager, compliance officer and the ATF are doing their check and say "this officer has some concerns about our guns and their legality"
The cop starts telling them about how we are selling illegal guns and pulls out a notepad he wrote them down on. He gets the senior ATF agent to follow him out to the floor and starts showing him all the "illegal" guns. The ATF says they aren't illegal and spends nearly half an hour with the cop explaining why and some gun laws.

33% are normal dudes who happen to be cops. Generally speaking they're competent at their jobs, and they may not know a ton about guns, but their at least willing to ask questions and learn. These guys usually have a decent AR (colt, M&P, Ruger) with a decent red dot (Vortex usually) for their patrol rifle

33% are bro-tier. Awesome dudes who know a good bit about guns, always willing to share stories, nice and respectful to employees. These guys usually have DD rifles with an Aimpoint for their patrol rifle. One of my favorite customers falls into this category. I got him into reloading and now he comes in all the time to pick up supplies. Super awesome dude.

34% are split into fucking power tripping Operator Ollie and cops who are shockingly incompetent. I put them all in one category because they both are a giant pain in the ass to deal with.

Once we had two cops show up in full battle rattle. Like rifles uncased, loaded, at the low ready, sidearm on their chest, mags everywhere, etc. They bypassed the line of people waiting to get on the range and basically said we're here for two lanes please. Our Range Master told them to fuck off. So they proceed to bitch and moan that theyre officers and they should get more respect.

The incompetent types are just as bad. There is a county cop running around with an ATI polymer AR with a fucking Tasco red dot as his patrol rifle. I'm shitting you not. This same guy fucking kept taking said red dot off the rifle to adjust it and put it back on the rifle. Went through 50 rounds of ammo before asking somebody for help.

No, not really. The rifle I got was shit, I paid almost $1400 for it new and it's never consistently shot better than 2-3 MOA even with the factory recommended 168gr Federal Gold Medal Match ammo. Additionally the top scope rail came loose at one point and the 20 round box magazine (that's proprietary and costs at least $60) allowed 3-4 bullets to sit "loose" in the magazine when it was full or near full so the bullet tips would end up getting beat to shit when they rattled around due to recoil. FN has this one chance to make it right and send me a sub-MOA rifle (when I bought the FNAR they were "guaranteeing SUB-MOA performance") or I'll never do business with them again. So far, it appears that they're going to uphold their end of the bargain and make it right. We'll see though, I don't have a new gun in my hands yet.

This. I end up saving about $1 per round when reloading .45-70 over buying factory Hornady Leverevolution ammo. Reloading for .223 is a wash, I only reload match grade hunting ammo using PSP, hollow point, or ballistic tip bullets weighing over 60gr, range food is whatever the cheapest brass cased 55gr FMJ remans I can find at the time. I save about $.25 per round reloading .308, not really worth it but I end up with very nice shooting ammo that's tuned for my gun. I cast my own lead buckshot and reload 3" magnum shotshells for MUCH cheaper than I can find them on store shelves, birdshot isn't really worth it unless you find some extremely cheap lead shot somewhere (I lucked into 60 lbs of various shot sizes sitting at my local scrap yard and paid scrap prices for it all).

I'll probably never recoup the money I have in reloading equipment and components over buying factory ammo but everything I reload gets hand-measured shot charges trickled down to the nearest 1/10th of a grain and shoots much more consistent than any factory ammo I've run through the chronograph.

Nothing to do with being based in Germany or their export laws, not import laws.

That is because they don't bother to produce/assemble semi-auto rifles and pistol carbines in US. They were pretty much only major firearms manufacturer that lobbied against import bans. NRA and US gun owners in general gave 0.000001 fucks about that, because it was done by republican president. So they they focus on law enforcement and military sales on everything except pistols. US civilian market basically told 'em to fuck off with stuff that happened Bush import ban.

You literally don't even need to be part of a gun-club to get a Shotgun permit. If you were applying for a Firearm License, for rifles and such, you have to justify everything, and it's a huge hassle. With a shotgun permit, the Police have to have EXCEPTIONAL REASON to deny you one (i.e.: the onus is on THEM to justify why you shouldn't have one).

Literally:
1) buy the cheapest, shittiest gun cabinet you can find online.
2) Fix it to a wall.
3) (Optional) Go to a clay shooting club for one hour
4) Apply for permit
5) Become hasguns.
