Recommend me a carry gun /k/
I'm getting my CCW in 2 weeks (soonest that there was an opening) and am having a dilemma choosing which gun to get.

I am looking for either .45 or 9mm. I already have a shitload of ammo because I have full-sized pistols in those calibers.

So far the guns that have peaked my interest are the Kimber micro 9 and the Glock 36. I am open to all suggestions/recommendations. My budget is around $650

Glock brand Glock 19 or Glock 26.
>>
>>33244759
Boberg XR9S

I CCW a full-sized pistol, usually under a t-shirt. I don't see your point.

PT-100, .40
>>
>>33244759
Anything but a SAO
>>
>>33244849
I have a Glock 19 and have tried concealed carrying it on my property but it's uncomfortable. The Glock 26 fits the bill but I prefer the Kimber over it.
>>
>>33244869
>Boberg XR9S
It doesn't lock back on empty. Deal breaker for me.
>>
>>33244882
What's wrong with that? I have a few hundred hours training with them and can get the same times drawing while disengaging the safety and drawing without having a safety.
>>
>>33244759
how the hell are you getting your CCW without having a gun.

Also holy shit you're gonna want to practice before you get to the class. You know you have to actually know how to shoot to get the license right?
>>
>>33245434

Depends on your state, mine doesn't have any requirements to get the license.

You can get the license before buying a weapon, my state has a 3 day waiting period for handguns unless you have a CCL
>>
Colt Defender.

Not Kimber.
>>
>>33245434
Are you actually retarded?
>I am looking for either .45 or 9mm. I already have a shitload of ammo because I have full-sized pistols in those calibers
He has guns you idiot
>>
>>33246371
Bulky shit gun. Also
>colt
laughing out loud at you
>>
If a single action: SIG P938.
Glock 26, otherwise.
Revolver: Ruger LCR.
>>
>>33246546
I really like the Sig but it's out of my price range and seems to be a glorified Kimber. As for the LCR, I will never carry a wheel gun. I have an LCP custom that will be my Nop firearm/pocket carry.
>>
I've got a 9mm m&p shield I carry and I love it.
most gun stores will rent you guns to shoot. get your card and go shoot and pick one your self
>>
>>33246614
I've done a lot of research on it. If I am getting 9mm I would prefer to get the Kimber or Glock 26.
>>
>>33246671
then just buy both. problem solved.

>>
>>33246739
I have an Lcp custom. I'm not a fan of the Lc9. I prefer the Glock 26 for Striker fire to it or the Kimber.
>>
>>33246791
Look on slick guns for a P938 under $600. Kimber is just bad news
>>
>>33246791
get a g26
>>
>>33244876
You CCW a fucking Taurus so your opinion is invalid.
>>

or the g43

I think he's BR

I CC a Glock 32 with TLR-1 on it and also have no issue, and I'm a fairly average 68" guy.
>>
>>33246915
I'm curious why though. I have no problem with striker fire/Glocks. The Kimber just seems like a better deal and I prefer Sia.
>>33246811
Can you link me anything to show that the Kimber is worse than a Sig? Everyone I talk to that owns a Kimber has nothing bad to say about it besides Sia, which I prefer over sao.
>>
>>33247089
Sao over dao. Not sure where my head is tonight.
>>
Holy shit how is a board d fixated to weapons so woefully autistic about guns?

Get a Walther PPS m2 in le with the 8 round mag. 450 dollars. Don't be a retard and buy a shitty Glock.

Kimber is straight garbage, and their little mini guns are extra garbage. Work with kimber c/s and you will know exactly what I am talking about.
their 1911s are chock full of proprietary parts and they haven't made a good one since they left Oregon.

I've seen infographs like that for literally every firearm brand. Talk about an FN or HK on /k/ and you would think they are nigger tier pieces of aluminum. If you have a Kimber and have had a problem, timestamp it. If you have had one in the past and it had problems, post pics. If you have never had one and just talk out of your ass about rumors then please don't post anything.

Sorry, I don't trust /k/ without timestamped proof of anything to do with a 1911. Post one and get called a fudd here. The pic you linked is 5 different firearms from different angles. That is nothing. On the CCW forum for my state, Kimber is the second most popular brand for CCW behind Glock. The more popular a brand, the more malfunctions you will hear about.
>>
>>33244869
>Boberg XR9S
Huh, just earlier this week I was thinking of how you'd design a pistol with a barrel that extends over the magazine, and came up with pretty much that. Just goes to show you there's really not an original idea out there.
>>
>>33247218
I love Walther, but the PPS m2 is a glorified Hi-point. It looks and feels retarded. I would much prefer to carry a Glock.
>>
>>33247430
in summary:
>if it works well, congratulations! it works well. don't shoot it much.
>if it doesn't work well, you are going to have to send it back to kimber.
>If you hand it to a it to a gunsmith, there's a 90% chance he'll have to order all of the parts from Kimber.
>when you send it back to kimber, they will take FOREVER. 6 weeks if you are lucky and had a simple issue.
>kimber has a "master dealer" fuckery program that's aids.
>>33247218
>don't buy a shitty glock
>buy a walther glock
OK kid
>>
>>33247591
I appreciate your input. But when I have had to deal with firearm companies in the past it's always pretty aids. I have dealt with Colt,Sig,Glock personally. The worst out of the bunch was Colt. I had the option to wait on backorder for a part or send my firearm to an FFL in another state to install the part. 3 week turnaround.
>>
>>33246445
I have no idea why my brain shit the bed there. Nevermind disregard
>>33245434
>>
I'm torn between the Sig p938 and the Glock 43. I own a Glock 19, so I'm familiar with the platform. But the p938 is so damn sexy and feels about equal to the Glock 43 in my hand.

Anyone have opinions on the two? My Glock 19 is just gonna be too big for summer carry. Plus I've been carrying to work lately, and I'm always nervous someone will catch the outline on my back before I get the chance to put it in my bag.
>>
>>33247636
Your experience with Colt would be the slam dunk, best customer service experience I have ever had BY FAR with Kimber.

I used to intake guns for the repair counter at a mom & pop. Out of all the 1911s that I saw, the Kimbers were the guns I saw with the worst issues. After dealing with them for rudimentary repairs, I would never buy one.

You can not believe me, but I suggest you do some reading.

I can't get my pinky on the 938 without the 7 round magazines and I'm not a huge fan of SAO. However it's a solid choice. I personally have a G43, and prefer that mostly because I prefer the Trijicon HD sights
>>
>>33247754
Again, I appreciate the advice. I looked at the forums you linked and it doesn't seem any more different than other gun forums. Go to a Sig forum and you will see multiple threads about having problems with them. Look deeper and you will see it is user negligence. The Kimber I want is full metal. A lot of people who get them think you can run them dry or run them like you would run a Glock. The people I talk to who know how to handle firearms properly have no problems with Kimber or their only complaint is that it's Sao.
>>
.45 is meme tier for carry especially on a compact model
>>
>>33247785
Good luck. I'd spend $50 and get the sig

Kimber owner here. I've put about 2k rounds through my Custom II and never had the slightest issue. It functions beautifully and is one of the most accurate handguns I've ever fired. It leads me to think that the Kimber hate on /k/ is probably just a bunch of retards parroting bullshit memes, as is usual around here.
>>
>>33247794
How so? The G36 is one of the most popular carry guns in America.
>>33247826
The cheapest P938 I can find near me if over $690. That is already over my budget not including FFL transfer and tax.
>>33247843
Thanks for the input. It's a hit or miss asking for help on /k/ because nearly all "facts" are actually opinions from people that have never had the firearm in question.

>>

Sexy gun that I will most likely get later on in life for plinking, but not ever for a carry gun
>>
Get the Kimber
>>
>>33244759
Sig 938
>>
>>33244876
Yeah because you are probably fat.
>>
>>33244759
If you look at a single stack 9mm, you may as well get a 45 which will have similar capacity. Most defensive shootings are over in 4 shots or less.
>>
>>33248412
Yeah that's why I figured caliber (380 minimum) wouldn't matter much. No matter what I decide to go with I will have an extra mag on me at all times.
