it takes a long time to get info processed from a crime scene, especially if stuff has to get sent out to other labs or god forbid the feds. Sometimes "we dont have any leads" doenst mean "we dont care", but actually means "we're awaiting the results of tests and interviews and for judge X to get back from his fishing trip to sign this search warrant"

Most shootings occur between rival criminal elements in hot spots of crime or areas where they are already conducting criminal enterprise.

Criminals select these areas because they are familiar with the physical layout, potential witnesses, police response times, and security measures.

Also a shooting doens't always result in a homocide, and a shot victim who isnt interested in cooperating with an investigation because of alterior motivations, (ie criminal enterprise or retaliatory actions), can severly hamper an investigation.

FURTHER, if you are not a part of the criminal element, you have A LOT more to lose than as a known or suspected member of that lifestyle, because a defensive shooting or "percieved" defensive shooting where you are partially to completely justified will allow you to continue to live a semi normal life while a percieved criminal act by a normal person will result in social consrquences such as job loss, loss of friends/family, and retaliation.

long story short, being a criminal is in fact a job. A job some know very well and are good at. And unless you are a criminal operating in your element you stand a much higher chance of being caught as statistics, when analyzed correctly, do in fact show.

If you have to shoot someone in defense of your life, your 1st call should be to the cops, immediately followed by a call to your lawyer (you do have a lawyer’s number programmed in your phone, right?…) and then to a friend or family member to tell them WTF is going on.

US justice system is flawed because even if 12 cases are clear cut the exact same set of circumstances and exact same scenarios half of them can still end up being found guilty, then you have to spend years in a prison waiting for your appeal which may also fail.

Call 9-1-1. Call a lawyer. Only give basic details when interviewed, util you talk with your lawyer.
