It was a shit show because Bush sent them in there with no armour, artillery, nothing.

Provided a few lessons though:
- peacekeeping is gay and a waste of white lives
- no military should be half arsed ever again. Go in heavy with everything or don't go in at all

Basically the SF force had no contingency plan in case things went to shit. There was no QRF on standby and nobody thought they would need heavy armor or air support.
