i have a maverick 88 field version, with the 26" ribbed barrel. i don't really care to spend over half the cost of the gun on the shorter barrel, but kinda want it to be a home defense tool as well. it is worth getting accessories for that purpose with such a long barrel or nah? talking like a side saddle and an optic, maybe a pistol grip stock

you can clear a house with a long barrel if you really have to just need to change tactics and really practice shouldering from low ready

true enough i guess, wonder what accessories i should get then
probably a light first but idk if a side saddle is even worth it cuz if i'm firing more than 6 target load shots indoors and they're not dead i am
While the Mav 88 is a good gun for the money, your proposed course of action could arguably be accurately categorized as "turd polishing".

Just put a cheap surefire on it with a mount. You dont need an optic. You'll be safe. Then later you can get some tacted out rifle with a folding stock or whatever you want later

i'm not gonna get *nice* accessories by any means, but i mean even my savage 64f has a cheap sight and bipod and it's a $150 gun so i figure it couldn't be a bad idea to put cheap helpful accessories on this one

Just get a flashlight, everything else is pointless. Put a red dot if it isnt a big hastle
>>33224903
yeah i figured as much, just got one
thanks anons, need people to knock some sense into me cuz the urge to buy accessories is too strong

>Not purchasing the 8 shot security model to begin with
You did this to yourself.
