I'm on the same boat as you, OP. Poorfag to the max but these prices are really, really tempting me. I can't decide between the M&P-15 Sport II, the Ruger AR-556, or the Del-ton which is only like $400. From what little research I've done, I'm leaning towards the M&P. I've heard the Ruger can be way too tight, making it difficult to take down without a punch.
