Seriously, google appendix carry without holster - I did, and I don't see a single example where this would or could be used for appendix carry. Go to google. Type in pistol lanyard. It's different than the one kind you put around your neck with your keys on it. I'm pretty sure it's in case you drop your pistol or it falls out of your holster in combat, you can't lose it cause its attached to you.

I think this guy is actually right.
I've never encountered someone who needed to use a pistol lanyard personally, but I guess they're commonly used by LEO in Asia.
