Thinking that I might lay down my hard earned schmeckles on a Springfield Saint. Was wondering if your boys had any opinions/experiences to share on it.

you cared enough to post
>>
>>33178944
So nothing new to write home about?
>>
>>33178928
It's ok, a decent value for what you get.
You can usually find better guns if you buy a gunshop special but if only you shop at big box stores it's a decent value.

>>33178928

>2017
>still having an A2 front sight
>still not having a monolithic rail

at least it doenst have an A2 grip and that ugly m4gery stock
>>
>>33178970
No, spring field is late to the game, the smith and wesson mp15 is a better option for much cheaper, or a colt for just a little more.you can get even more for your money if you build.
>>
>>33179026

i own an MP15 and theyre fine guns but i added a magpul moe grip and butt stock, that should come standard with all factory ARs now
>>
>>33179026
Would like to do a homebrew AR ultimately, just not in the right place (physically) to do so.
>>
>>33179026

How's it going Tyrone?
>>
>>33179051
Physically? Like you're a double amputee and you're hoping that shit grows back or something?
>>
>>33179085
no, physically as in I live in a small townhouse with my wife and multiple animals. It's hard to find an undisturbed corner to watch netflix in, let alone piece together an AR.

>>
>>33179185

Then a nice free float rail and stock
>>
>>33179124
I bulit my lower in my own bed.its that easy.not even the proper tools.used some of my kids toy blocks and a hammer to knock pins in.In all seriousness, you can buy a complete lower and conplete upper from palmetto and just stick em together.
>>
>>33178928
You could get an M&P Sport for 525 shipped right now. Or spend a bit more and get a nicer AR. My 2 cents is that the Saint comes in at a weird price point where a little more can get you something a lot nicer, or you can get something a little worse for a lot cheaper.
>>
>>33178928
Nigger, brownells is selling a midlength aero precison ac15 for $550

Its easily the best value AR15 deal right now, the Saint is not $250 better

Unrelated but this sort of post makes me really anxious about getting married. Is it a death sentence for your personal free time, hobbies etc?

>>33179593
Back out on that shit if you can.

I'm not even market for another but I'm really fucking tempted by the Aero at $550

It's too late now. Give it to me straight doc. How much worse of a gun did I buy?
>>
>>33179639
Not significantly, but AC15's got a better barrel, gas system, and a nicer lower receiver

But a M&P Sport goes bang everytime, so you still are good man.

I really dont think there is anything too special about this rifle to warrant the cost. If your in the market to not have to build, sure y not, i wouldn't, but if it was sold ambi for the price, 850-900,
ps. on mobile
>>
>>33178928
Just buy a cheap complete lower and upper, and put it together....unless you REALLY LIKE the exact configuration the Saint comes in, you'll end up spending more money on parts/furniture you'd rather have, which I guaran-fucking-tee you'll end up doing.

Get the Springfield SAINT™ goyim, please feed hungry croat tummies with the Springfield SAINT™ and be well assured that you're buying an All-American* rifle when you support the red, white, and blue state with the Springfield SAINT™! Nevermind that $900 can get you:

>the same basic bitch rifle
>furniture of your choice
>a much better trigger
>starter optic
>better rollmark

Please, ignore that and support us with your purchase of the Springfield SAINT™!

My father in law just bought one. It's a very nice rifle especially at that price point. I think he paid 900 out the door. Came with a 30rd gen 3 pmag and a tsa approved case.

I liked it, I have a ddm4v9 but I wouldn't mind the saint, seems well built, shot accurate and smooth and has a lot of features that makes me think Springfield can't be making that much off each rifle at that price point.

If I were you and had the money I definitely buy one.

Does Ruger make a good AR?
>>
>>33180275
Their AR-556 is a commonly recommended quality entry level AR
>>
>>33180115

Springfield is actually Brazilians
>>
>>33180275
AR-556 is a good starting point if you can get it for $600
>>
>>33178928
Just build one OP. You can build a better weapon than the Saint for $450.00 on a good day. Less on better days. Why oh why people even sell completed ARs anymore is beyond me. If it is not a custom job, there is never, NEVER a reason to buy whole. Not even the fucking warranty. You can just replace failed parts and not have to bother sending the weapon off and waiting because they are so ridiculously easy to work on. A bench vise, Allen wrench set, hole punch kit, and an armorer's wrench and voila! You can now do ANYTHING you need to YOURSELF.

hickok was offended by the name so it's probably not very good
