Watch Delta Team Tactical, Classic Firearms, and Palmetto State Armory for build kits. You will also need to purchase an AR armorer's wrench and a stripped lower receiver. Also required is a set of punches and possibly a C clamp. If you're assembling an upper as well, add an AR armorer's wrench and a torque wrench.

The absolute gold standard of poorfagging is like this kit from PSA, http://palmettostatearmory.com/ptac-16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-8-socom-nitrate-rifle-kit.html, but the slick side version (no forward assist or dist cover), which was on sale for $299 w/ free shipping a couple times (but not in the past year or so) but any PSA kit <$350 with free shipping will do. They're ugly, feature poor, accurate, and reliable. You should be able to find an Anderson lower at your LGS for $50.
