Alright /k/, let's see your .22's! Do you have a favorite?
I fell in love with the Colt Woodsman when I was 8 years old, in fact it was the first pistol I ever shot. It's held up against the test of time, and I still shoot it regularly.
It's coming along.

That a model 190?
>>33170347
Sure is, was my first rifle.
>>33170370
My first rifle was a model 190
>>33170389
How did you acquire yours? My grandfather gave me mine when I was 6, and it was the perfect rifle to learn marksmanship with.

The first .22 I ever fired was my Dad's 190
Mfw this thread
All I have is a the most default 10/22. Haven't even shot it yet. It's my first long rifle and one of my first two guns.
I want to mod it now but I haven't even shot it so it doesn't make sense to change characteristics I haven't even experienced firsthand yet.
Living 45 mins from an outdoor range is ass but that wasn't a concern for me until fairly recently.

Almost forgot:
Ruger Single Six 5.5"
CZ 455 Trainer
Henry Classic Lever Action
T/C Contender Super 14" .22 Match Grade
Marlin Model 70SS Takedown
>>33170440
Yeah I would shoot it a bit first before modding, that way you can enjoy the upgrades and feel the differences when changing components. The first thing you'll want to change out is the trigger group, just slap a BX-25 trigger group in and you'll be good to go.

pics nao plox.
>>33170491
I'm always too lazy to take pictures for arsenal threads. Plus its 5am.
>>33170480
Bx triggers are junk. Get some volquartzen parts for the same price instead.
>33170523
First off I disagree with you. BX triggers are a vast improvement over the stock trigger, cutting the trigger pull weight in half and cutting out a lot of travel.
Secondly, you can't get Volquartzen parts for the same price as the BX. A complete BX drop in trigger assembly costs around $60, while one from Vol would cost at least $200 more, usually eclipsing the cost of the original rifle. All for a slightly cleaner trigger break that wouldn't see any difference outside a match in the hands of a skilled marksman.
My NORINCO JW-8 is my favorite .22 rifle.
>>33170571
I've been thinking of picking up a bolt action .22. Bolt action's make things more fun, you get to interact with the gun more.
I have a "thing" for Marlin 60 actions.
>>33170555
>a complete drop in trigger
Is that what I said niggerfaggot?
>>33170718
Almost ever single individual trigger piece from Vol costs more than $60 you doubleniggerfaggot
Any one own or have shot a Beretta Neos? I've been thinking of picking one up because they look pretty cool and I like the price point, but I'm not sure how well they hold up.
bump-fire.
>>33170677
Ever think about adding a tech sight? Gives it a cool carbine look imo.
>>33170933
What is a tech sight?

Pretty easy to pick a favorite considering I only find 22 pistols to be all that relevant to me at 22lr ammo prices. When it comes to long guns, I'll grab a centerfire rifle all day before my 10/22.
For everything else weak plinker or hunting related, my 177 or 22 cal pellet rifle gets used for. I love the crazy expanding hunting pellets, they knock stuff very dead.
>>33170257
Ive just got my HTA 90/22 10/22. But i love that little thing.
>>33170933
>>33171013
I have a set of these aperture sights, they're pretty nice.
Clockwise: Remington 552 Speedmaster, Ruger 10/22, Beretta NEOS and a Savage Mark II
I learned to shoot on a 552 that was given to my brother after my grandfather passed away, I picked mine up a couple of years ago.
>>33171283
How is that mark II? I want a rifle to learn marksmanship on, and I like the idea of the stock accutrigger.
Hey /k/ompadres
i have some money saved up and i want to buy a long gun.
problem is my country has some semi-cucked gun laws and i think i canĀ“t own a proper "military rifle".
should i buy one of those ar15 type guns chambered in .22LR?
what can you tell me about these guns?
>>33170933
Those Marlin 99 series sights are worth there weight in gold. A gun with the originals is worth 100 dollars more than one without.
>>33171283
good stuff.
>>33171528
It's great! I've had zero problems with it, I had a small scope on it for a while but I prefer irons. It's quite accurate though I have never done any bench shooting with it. Mine doesn't have the AccuTrigger, got it before they came stock.
I personally keep a variety of sight choices for my .22 depending on the situation. I have a reflex sight, red dot, and a 4-12x44 target scope that I swap in and out depending on what Im' doing that day.
>>33170257
I have a hand-me-down Sears and Roebuck model 41-103. I have no pic yet (out of the house), but I am looking for a complete bolt assembly for it.
There's a boring story behind it involving an uncle that is either in federal prison or dead, but the important thing is that it's mine now and it needs to be restored.
Quick question; what is the advantage of buying a .22? Is it just for fun, or can there be some practical reason?
>>33172697
Small game hunting mostly.
>>33172721
That's a fair point.

Savage FVSR with a .22 suppressor and a 4x fixed power Bushnell
Ruger 10/22 with Gemtech integral suppressor and a 3-9.
I want to make up a black 10/22 and move the barrel over to that one and put the stainless barrel back on this rifle. The non matching colors bother me.
>>33172324
Finally home.
>and yes, I'm trying to clean it
>it was almost entirely rusted
I've got 2 old Ranger Model 35's I shoot every now and then, dad gave them to me.
>>33170257
It's a damn shame that they don't make the Woodsman, anymore. A guy at my hunting camp has one, and its one of the best plinkers. Good for squirrels and other critters, as well. The Competition version or whatever they called it was one of the sexiest guns ever made. Even Ernest Hemingway has a quote about the Woodsman.
I don't feel like paying the price they sell at for something used, so I was thinking about a Ruger Mark IV. Is that a bad idea?
I just bought the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite as my very first gun. Unfortunately it doesn't get here until fucking monday. Waiting sucks.
Also I'll probably pick up a CZ bolt gun for my second.
>>33175101
I like the aesthetic of the Lite. It is like there is a shroud over the barrel. But I wish the barrel was longer. Or maybe I wish they would do the barrell shroud on the hunter model.
>>33175155
Yeah it took awhile for it to grow on me, but I like it. Picked up the bronze/copper one. Haven't seen any Hunter models around here, but they sure do look pretty.
>>33170416
My grandpa gave it to me when I was 8. My dad got me a .410 Remington when I was 7.
>>33172697
22 LR is ideal for small game because anything more powerful risks doing too much damage.
The most important advantage is cost. 100 rounds of decent 22 LR only costs about $8. You really can't beat that even with reloading.
>>33178249
>You really can't beat that even with reloading.
you can't reload rimfire, anon
>>33178281
He was obviously referring to reloading other caliber rounds, anon.
>>33178281
Yes you can
