Does anyone else FUCKING HATE gun control and civilian weapon restrictions in general?
>>
No, you are literally the only one here who hates gun control, you special snowflake you.
>>
>>33155797

you're joking right?
>>
I love gun control, and the federal agents who enforce it
>>
>>33155797
/k/ is and always has been in support of all forms of civilian disarmament. Only police and military need weapons.
>>
>>33155797

Civilians don't NEED weapons, anon. That's what we have police and military for.
>>
>>33155797
you shouldn't hate gun control. you should actually want more. The more control, the safer we all are. Only the government should have weapons that can kill people. They are the only people you should trust with guns.
>>
>>33155797
Yes, but what pisses me off even more is that people love to blame legislators, but they never blame the police for enforcing unjust laws.

Yeah, but muskets could only shoot one bullet at a time. They never expected automatic KILL-ING machines. Pft, what;s next, nuclear bombs for everyone?

Ok I get you're being facetious, but

>What were the artillery pieces provided by private citizens
>What were grenades

The argument against the bill of rights entailing that the founding fathers were not aware of the growing intensity of technological knowledge and power is so short sighted...

>The argument against the bill of rights entailing that the founding fathers were not aware of the growing intensity of technological knowledge and power is so short sighted...

Ah, the old "The Second Amendment was written with muskets in mind, not assault rifles" argument.

Sure, and the First Amendment was written with hand-cranked printing presses, not global television networks in mind. So does that mean it's okay for Congress to send the police in to shut down CNN?
>>
>>33156106
ikr, even up to WW1, the us military was seriously under equipped and received donated honest to god machine guns from civilians. Hell, they even gave them back after the war was over...

What's wrong with the use of privately owned nuclear weapons for recreational and commercial purposes?

e.g. mining and excavation, home defence and sport hunting, etc.
>>
>>33156509
How are you going to mine an irradiated zone?

I'm not going to stop you, but I'm definitely going to give you the negan lean and look.
>>
>>33156564
very carefully :^)

I guess you could use contract workers, give them rad suits and dosimeter badges (cost to be deducted from their final pay), and basically say "this badge turns red when you reach your lifetime safe dose of radiation, come back once that happens and we'll pay you the value of the ore you mined" and that will be the end of their contract.

No human or robot miner is going to be anywhere near an active nuclear detonation (the OSHA people would be quite upset, I would think), but it is true that "stray" radiation can disrupt electronics.

This is why space-borne electronics need to be hardened against radiation, since being outside of the earth's magnetic field there is no natural shielding from cosmic radiation
>>
Obviously use captured Mexicans in the united states for mining? Make sure they don't die, but that they get enough radiation that if they come back and get caught again they'll die in the mine.

So essentially have them mine until they're half dead from radiation.

>>33156874

Ah yes, a board devoted to guns with a heavy gun culture supports gun control. Yes we love gun control. We love gun control so much it's a fetish. We want to lock gun control up in a pillory and spank it's bare ass and listen to it moan. Yeah man we wanna fuck gun control.

That's how much we love fun control OP.
>>
>>33157076
shit hit post too early

Anyway, it is a known phenomenon that if radiation strikes a memory cell it can cause a "bit-flip" e.g. a 1 becomes a 0 or vice versa. See: http://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/32663/what-are-the-effects-of-cosmic-rays-on-consumer-electronics

This can be quite problematic - imagine a signed integer being used as a variable in the avionics subsystem, containing the decimal value 2300, or binary 01000101 00001111 11000000 00000000

Imagine then that a bit flip happens on the highest value bit - which in a signed integer is used to determine whether the integer is positive or negative.

This would lead to 01000101 00001111 11000000 00000000 becoming 11000101 00001111 11000000 00000000, or the decimal value 2300 changing to the value -988823552, a significant difference.

I wouldn't move to California (I have family there) based on their gun laws alone. I understand states have control over their own laws but fuck them if they go too far.
>>
No. I think the H&K SL8, stockless rifle "pistols", and the ARES SCR are neat.
Thanks, gun control.

To this day the only agency yo even come close to BATFE's prestige and honor is maybe the TSA. Even then they're pretty far behind. BATFE's steadfast enforcment of the based NFA and Huges act should be a shinning example of proper policing world wide.
>>
>>33155797
Not really, I feel that some "people" should not be allowed to drive or vote let alone acquire a weapon, hell many shouldn't be allowed to breath. I believe they have a right to a speedy trial by a jury of their peers and promptly hanged in a public square for all violent felonies.

On the other hand I believe someone like myself, a federally credentialed professional should be able to acquire any weapon that I can afford with no punitive tax or waiting period. I can legally fly airplanes carrying passengers for money all over the world and I can legally carry concealed firearms into secure areas yet I must pay $200 and wait a year if I want a pistol with two grips, a rifle with a barrel less that 16" or a muffler for the end of my gun and I am effectively banned from having a machine guns, its bullshit. Anyone that wants to really fuck shit up will make bombs anyway, a god guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun, nothing stops a bomb. That's one thing I'd be hesitant to fuck around with, I wouldn't acquire explosives unless I had a bit of rural land where I could store them safely in a secure and secluded place. Bombs will slap your shit.
