Didn't see the other questions.

I usually clean them after shooting them, because used to running corrosive ammo through them, and I usually listen to either death metal, bluegrass or folk depending on my mood.
>>
>>33155507
What? You mean there are people who dont clean their guns every time they fire them?
>>
>>33155507
I have an ar, ak and model 60 that have been sitting in the safe after putting about 300 rds through each. Been there for about 6 months untouched. Been out of town the entire time and finally get home tomorrow wondering how they faired. I assume pretty well considering I live in a desert.
>>
>>33155507
>It's time to clean your guns.
No, it's not. It hasn't malfunctioned yet.
>>
>>33155507
I clean my EDC 2 or 3 times a week
(wipe it down and oil it... it has a parkerized finish. I only disassemble it and clean it once a week)
The rest of the pistols a couple times a month, or after I shoot them.
The AR a couple times a month, or after I shoot it
Hunting rifles, after use (or when I remember I haven't cleaned them in a while... I have a 30/30 I hadn't cleaned in 20 years... I just cleaned it a couple weeks ago.)
I don't listen to music

I've cleaned my 1911 so much that it might be cleaner than the day I bought it new. Any more and I'm going to start rubbing the finish off.

Feels bad.
>>
>>33155720
agreed. unless im shooting corrosive ammo through it, guns dont get cleaned until they need it

>>
I usually will clean a gun after I get done shooting it for the day, and not clean them period when in storage except for wiping dust and cat hair off the externals when they get to the point that they need it.
My ccw piece (which usually only gets worn maybe once a week since I can't carry to work) gets cleaned about once a month, sometimes sooner and sometimes longer.

I'll clean when that stops.

>tfw I also cleaned my mom's guns
>tfw I also cleaned my dad's guns

>tfw I can't go out to the range because it's too late and it's closed

I may have a problem

I clean every gun I use on the range within 8 hours of shooting it unless I'm seasoning the bore on a precision rifle.

Nothing, although my 12-gauge is long overdue. I've never taken it apart ever.

As needed. I am typically fucking around with one of them every other night for w/e reason such as

I keep up on lubrication pretty well.

My P320 and AR

Everytime I should them (unless I'm really busy that week)
>Got any favorite shit to listen to while you clean?
Whatever TV show I'm watching at the time. Currently it is Scrubs. I tried Forgotten Weapons, but I either end up re-watching them because I don't remember anything, or just sit there and watch intently and forget to actually clean my guns.

Every range session assuming I've fired over 150 rounds.

I use Ed's Red for cleaning, Breakfree CLP for protection and white lithium grease for rails.
>>
I cleaned my Type 38 for the first time today.
Took everything out of the stock and cleaned it. Lots of gunk on/in the magazine and around the trigger grouping. Took some persuasion with a mallet to get the bayonet lug off but once it was all cleaned everything went back together smoothly.

My only other rifle right now is a Yugo M48. I can say Kijiro Nambu was an underappreciated genius. His design for the Type 38's bolt is so much easier to work on compared to Mauser's.

Typically, I clean the bolt and bore after every trip to the range.
I have only done a more extensive disassembly and cleaning after buying. Don't have a preference for music but it's really relaxing to clean them. To see how filthy they are and then spend a few hours cleaning and making them pretty.
>>
>>33156458
Because leaving guns dirty feels like child abuse.

>>

>Whatcha cleaning tonight?
Nothing, all my guns are already cleaned

>How often do you clean your babies?
Every time I shoot so basically every Saturday and some Wednesday if I manage to

>Got any favorite shit to listen to while you clean?
I don't really listen to music while I clean so no,
but maybe Sweet Dreams, The Times They Are Changing or Through the Fire and Flame
>>
>clean with hot water and soap in my sink
>lube with motor oil

feels good desu and is free.
>>
>buy gun
>put a patch of lube down the barrel

my vz's slide doesn't even operate anymore, I rack it and it doesn't return to battery, probably two or three inches and it gets stuck

I absolutely hate cleaning guns

So I got an sks, and the trigger wont cock. I took it apart, cleaned it, and can't see anything wrong with the trigger assembly. Any idea why it won't dryfire? I don't live where I can go shoot it right now, but it should dry fire rght?
>>
I guess... I could run an oiled patch through my rifles and knock the crud off my handgun. Maybe I'll just go shooting tomorrow and worry about it then? IDK, fuck off.

I clean my AR every range trip because it likes to choke on steel case. "Should have got an AK" I know, fuck off. Bolt gun doesn't shit it's self, so like an oil patch maybe. XDM every time because I just like the way it works.

I usually put on a long youtube video or catch up on something like Game of Thrones.

>pic related
my Remington 572 bolt that was never cleaned until a few months ago, about 40 years of use.

I found alot of lead shavings and carbon in the gun. I thought the rifling was almost gone but after thirty minutes of using a drill, a cleaning rod, and some break free it looked brand new.

i will post a few pics.

Well unless you fired corrosive ammo it's not like some carbon build up is going to kill your gun.
>>
I'm a newguns and I've been cleaning my guns with just brass/nylon bore brushes, patches, and CLP as both a cleaner and oil after I shoot.
Should I be doing more or using different things? I usually leave the internals clean and a little slick, but in a lot of videos I see, guys seem to douse their guns in spray cleaner or you can see the oil leaking out from things like the slide rail or safety.
The actions feel smooth after I clean them, but those pics and videos make me feel like I'm under-lubing/oiling them.
>>
>>33164385
what you're doing is fine, ease up on the brass brush though, there really is no need for it unless you can identify leading/copper build up.
>>
>>33164385
Lil extra lube won't hurt
>>
>>33155507
I clean after every time I shoot any of my guns usually the night of that day but sometimes I wait until the next day if I'm busy.

I listen to either music or a movie/TV show usually gun related or action movie as noise in the background.
>>
>>33164286
>Remington 572

Any idea what year it was made? I have a '53 760, kind of the 572's big brother.

I need to clean mine out properly but it has an aftermarket (Maybe homemade?) end cap on the pump tube and I can't figure out how to get it off, which is a problem because it's necessary for field stripping.
