I have lost a fuckton of weight and summer is around the corner and I need a smaller, slimmer CCW. I currently carry a USPc and I feel like it will be too big to CCW. The Glock 43 seems the obvious choice, I have held and shot them and they are great little guns. However I just cant help but feel something else would be better. I have been looking into the Sig P239, however it seems like it is basically the same size as a P225 which I already have (actually a P6). Would the P239 be a good choice? Or should I just go with the smart, obvious choice and go with a Glock 43?

I lost a shit load of weight (size 52 pants down to size 36). Was carrying a P229 when I was a ham planet. Now I carry a G19. Feelsgoodman.

How much have you lost? I have lost 65 pounds, down from 295 to 230, shooting for 200.

Don't do it. It's kind of a fun gun at first. I carried one for about a year and a half. It's really not much easier to carry than a double stack in a good holster. I sold mine for a P2000 and occasionally carry my Glock 19. The P2000 is just as easy to carry.
Once it warms up a bit, then I'll pick up a Glock 43. I think that the P239 is a nice gun, it shoots well, and it's just neat. But I don't think it makes for a great carry gun.
That said, if you want a DA/SA single stack option, then sure. I can see that because that's why I bought it. But I eventually found that aside from it being DA/SA, it didn't make for a very good carry gun. It has it's charms, and it's a cool gun in a lot of aspects, but with all of the other carry options available these days, it makes little sense.
Why the fuck would that heavy hunk of metal seem to be a better choice than a g43

What have you boys been doing to lose weight? I've gone from 280 to 260 and I want to keep it up

I eat 1700 calories a day and I started doing crossfit
>inb4 meme
I'm living proof it works to some degree. Sure a lot of the people are tryhard faggots but it's a good workout environment. I've lost 65 pounds in 8 months.

Don't have a scale so no idea. I decided when I started that I didn't have a "goal" weight/size. I looked at it as making a lifestyle change and just seeing where it went. I had to be WAY over 300lbs but I have no idea what my actual weight was when I started. Probably around 200 now but as I've been losing fat I've been adding muscle so again no idea on my weight. Fuck a number lol I just concentrate on doing what I need to do each day, each meal etc...one foot in front of the other every day. what will be will be but so far so good.

I cut out the carbs. I eat meat, fish, veggies(low carb only no starches), cheese and tree nuts. no fucking sugar. I lift 4 days a week and I hike a nearby mountain at least 3 days a week unless the weather is super shitty for a long stretch.
The secret to losing weight is "WHATEVER IT TAKES". If you want it bad enough you will find a way. It's been interesting to find out the levels of discomfort I can tolerate when I decide to fucking succeed.
G43 is the best dedicated CCW on the market.
>says the glock 43 is great
>doesn't want it
Why are people so insufferable?
>>33154497
just get a p2000sk, it is the same size as the 239 and carry more ammo
>>33155176
My wife carries a p30sk so I have thought about just swapping with her since she just keeps hers in her car or pocketbook

>Would the P239 be a good choice?
If you want a DA/SA pistol that shoots like a fullsize trading off capacity, go for it. You are most likely already used to the manual of arms for Sigs and the 239 is a good gun.
If you actually want an HK but don't want a chunky USP, get a P2000. The P2000 is a slim version of the USP and it's essentially the same dimensions as the P239 but holds 13 rounds.
There is also the P2000SK
>>33155017
i dunno about that. it's too big for the limited capacity. there are smaller guns with 6+1 or similar sized guns with more rounds
>>33155654
i was about to talk shit about you carrying winchester which is usually shit, but i look up the ballistics of that load on luckygunner labs and damned if that isn't one of the best out there for the balance of expansion and reliable penetration.
