Milsurp metal and Bakelites are best, and metal mags will generally be about the same price as whatever fagpull or tapco will be selling that isn't guaranteed to work.

Bakes can be found for ~$30-$40, steel mags for ~$8-15.

Since apparently Spring Break came early and/or BakesRus and Lady have dragged /akg/ down to /arg/ tier single-handedly, I want to point out that there is an actual problem with *some* Nodak Spud receivers, mostly those made from 2013-2015.

Due to the way they heat treat the receivers, sometimes after the salt bath used in heat treating, some salts will remain inside of the center support and rails, eventually causing rusting in those areas unless the receiver is thoroughly rinsed and/or boiled to get the salt traces out. Not every builder will do this or knew about this issue prior to building, so you'll see NDS receivers with rust coming out of the center support and rail areas occasionally as a result. Nodak has tried to address the issue by using a black oxide finish on their newer receivers, but frankly, with Childers and Recreator receivers available with more options and more accurate markings, it's probably best to go with one of those instead.

If it's crooked, it isn't by much. I put a bolt through a 1-2-3 block and clamped it to the top of the rail, then put a drill-bit/allen-wrench between it and the rail surface.

Should be even all the way across. I can depth mic it with my calipers tho (guess stick).

I was going to use one from an AMD-65 but it's still attached to the barrel extension stub ever since I had the barrel extension on my AMD-65 changed out because it was wobbly. Turns out it's still wobbly, it's one of those TGI imported FEG built rifles. I think when they cut down the barrel and and threaded it they fucked it up since both the original extension and the new one have some wiggling even though it's fucking welded on.
