Why do fixed stocks get no love?
I hate the rattle of the collapsible stocks. You never really collapse it once you find the setting you like, right?
Yes the a2 are long and crappy but this MOE one is shorter and lighter and has sling options and DOESNT RATTLE

FIRST POST BEST POST
>>33145066
Because they are objectively less functional and less utilitarian than a collapsible stock
>>33145079
This. /v/ is where it's at. We talk more about guns than /k/ ever does nowadays. All these fuckheads care about is traps, do you know how many guns are in videogames? More than there are in the whole world. Honestly /k/ should be deleted and /v/ should be renamed /vk/
But honestly/k/ should have been deleted a long fucking time ago for being the most racist board
>>33145105
This is also true
Third post third best post

SECOND POST BEST POST
>>33145105
Durability during mortaring is the only benefit I can think of. Bent buffer tube is bad news,
>>33145113
This
/k/ died in 2012 as far as I am concerned.
Both are autistic as hell, but at least /v/ isn't neo-pol with unsolicited racism every other post.
Not to mention people on /v/ ACTUALLY MIGHT OWN GUNS
>>33145105
>objectively less functional and less utilitarian
funtional: designed to be practical and useful, rather than attractive
Utilitarian: designed to be useful or practical rather than attractive.
So a collapsible stock is good for mortaring a stuck round or ramming it into someones face over a fixed stock?
>>33145149
>mortaring stuck rounds
See crap advice like this is why /k/ is dead and all the decent (most knowledgeable) went to OP chan
>>33145066
Honestly I leave my collapsible m4 stock 1 spot in from fully extended and never move it. It is about the same length as my a1 stock and is familiar that way. Even when moving around indoors I instinctively rock the gun and lay the stock on my shoulder anyway.
About the only time it is collapsed is in a vehicle.
>>33145179
Right? Thats what I was thinking.
The only time its collapsed is in a trunk
>>33145066
>You never really collapse it once you find the setting you like, right?
depends
some people have different preferences for wearing armor, no armor, wearing cold weather clothing, etc.
>>33145066
I love my A2 stock and wouldn't trade it for anything.
>>33145066
MOE fixed stocks are fucking awesome coworker has one on his work AR, love the LOP it has. Next modern AR I build is getting one.
>>33145173
>all the decent (most knowledgeable) went to OP chan
Which is why you are "Hunter 3-1 Actual"
1 and 2 left your dumbass behind.
>>33145066
Uhh, I collapse it almost all the way with armor on.
>rattle
Don't buy "MOE" shit, get the CTR, STR, etc. They have a little clamp that makes them objectively better than even the rattly ass M4 stock.
>>33145524
>rattly ass M4 stock
I feel like people that care about this are the same people putting kns pins on a semi auto
>>33145066
Because when people think fixed AR stocks they think either lolA2fuddrifle or lolassaultweaponban,
>>33145550
Just screams poor build quality to me. This is a military rifle, not a kel tec.
Then again, I'm a good old wood guy.
put a layer or two of ducttape inside a collapsable stock and it will never rattle again. if you get the layering right it wont be a pain in the ass to adjust either.
>>33145792
it will never collapse again
>>33145902
it will if you do it right. its possible to get a balance were it doesnt wobble but you can still adjust it. might need to layer in a thinner tape like scotch or electrical under the duct.
>>33145066
I love fixed stocks.
Finally my time to shine....
I have Magpul stocks for comparison
Pic 1/2

And Pic 2/2
>>33145066
My collapsible doesn't rattle. Can adjust to different shooters. Can adjust to different clothing/gear. Can be stored collapsed.
Fixed stocks are fine too.
Main reason collapsible stocks are the norm is because we all want to be army rangers, we all want to live a life of danger.
Fixed stock best stock
>>33147882
Nice try rookie, I think you meant this was the best Fixed stock
> Magpul PRS
>>33145173
>all the decent (most knowledgeable) went to OP chan
No, they just couldn't keep up with the post rate, so the quieter backwater suits them better
>>33145066
I had an M16A4 in basic and I always thought it was awkward to shoot the full stock with armor. As I grow older tho I've started to really enjoy the look of full-sized rifles like the A2 and A4.
>>33145149
Surprisingly if you quality parts on your AR's they tend to be fine after being mortared a bit. Maybe stop buying PSA anon.
>>33145066
i like mine, lack of rattling and the fixed stock look on a carbine buffer tube is bretty gud
>>33148003
That looks like it weighs more than my ex gf
>shes a land whale btw
>>33145066
>Yes the a2 are long and crappy
>Drill sergeant tells platoon to cordon random area in FTX
>Disappears for an hr
>fall asleep on the A2 stock in basic
Bruh it is the best.
>>33147882
>Fixed stock best stock
Implying
Just get a telescoping stock that doesnt use the shit carbine receiver extension.
>>33153501
>wanting a 3.7lb stock
>>33153464
>kill me
>>33153559
26oz for current gen
21oz for second gen
A2 stock is 24oz
Pushups are free
My B5 BRAVO doesn't rattle, what do you mean niga
Fixed stock on an sbr maybe?
>>33145105
This. I have one position for just me and a second position for my plate carrier.
Always hated the A2 with the fucking IOTV.
Both are great, individually, but put together it's a fucking goat fuck.
>>33145066
>I hate the rattle of the collapsible stocks.
then get one with a friction stock, faggotron
>>33145066
I have that stock and wifey loves it.
I can put a cleaning kit in my A2's butthole though.
>>33145066
>I hate the rattle of the collapsible stocks.
You aren't getting the right ones.
Pic related. Zero fucking rattle ever.
>>33145066
ARFX Skeleton stock original or "entry" length.
they're a pain to put on, but light and I love em
