Great shooter, especially if youre already familiar with the SP-01. I've never had a single issue with mine that I can recall...it's been a bit since i've been out shooting. A bit on the heavy side for carry (for me) but thin and pretty streamlined so a lot of people do carry them and seem to have no issues.

lets be honest here, nearly anything is thinner than the factory rubber grips. The aluminum ones are even thinner than the VZ grips.

Mine had what seemed to be firing pin block/lifter problems. The plunger would "catch" a bit, swapped in a reduced power spring and seemed to realize the factory plunger spring was not only really fucking long, but very small in diameter for the plunger spring recess it sits in.

Only heard the things you look out for in a stock CZ are the factory springs and the slide stop. It seems they addressed the firing pin retention pin breakage by upping the single roll pin into a double roll pin.

I have reserved one at the LGS
but I havent really decided between the shadow 2 or the tanfo stock 3. I like the ugly blue and square slide bettter on the tanfo, and its 66% of the price of a shadow 2.

CZ stopped making/ordering the old Shadow 18 round mags
and Mecgar as the smart italojews they are brought their 17+2 round mags to the market
CZ switched over because they are probably cheaper in wholesale

so now the 17+2rd mag is too long to fit the Standard box if you want to have sights on your gun

meaning people buy the Shadow2 in droves because MUH PRODUCTION DIVISION
but fail to see at first that they can't do double starts in Standard divison as well
OR they have to buy different mags
either the Mecgar 17rd ones without the +2 extension
or try to find old CZ 18rd mags
(or have to use the CZ75 standard 16rd steel mags)


either way, it looks like double jewery to me
make people buy 6 mags instead of the 3 provided

personal experience, the drop free more easily, some of the cz mags can be a little sticky

little squeeze and they drop like cement

however i have seen people have issues with the rubber grips that protrude into the frame too much and act as an additional mag brake

Its just a personal observation and experience.
I know many over here run tanfo mags in their czs. once it binds during a match they usually dont bother with the cz mags any more
