Where are there good places to shoot? I live in the 724 area, specifically Greensburg. I want a good place to shoot rifles and shotguns (using buckshot, not just slugs).

The state ranges suck. Ive been to the ones in Ligonier and New Florence and they both suck. Maximum of 3 bullets in the magazine and no rapid fire, so that makes it no fun shooting my AR or AK having to reload every 3 shots. Plus, at the state ranges you can shoot shotguns but can only shoot slugs. No birdshot or buckshot allowed, which gets old.

Ive contacted several "sportsmans clubs" in the area but they all seemed to be anti Ar15/Ak. When I asked about using modern sporting rifles with 30round magazines, none of them seemed to welcoming.

Its so frustrating. I barely even go shooting anymore because every place has ridiculous rules that take the fun out of it. They all cater to fudds with their 3 shot durr rifles who only shoot 5 bullets per range trip. Its frustrating. I just want to take my AR and mossberg to the range and have fun in a safe manner

Also, I've been to the Army Navy indoor range in latrobe. Its 50/50. They allow handguns and AR15s, but no shotguns or AKs. Just handguns and .223 caliber rifles.

Technically the state has preemption over local laws and everywhere but Philly and Pittsburgh have to abide by the states rules.

Pittsburgh, despite being a city, knows better than to fuck with firearms laws to much due to its still "large but shrinking blue collar dem with conservative values" voter base.

They both have some other minor differences in laws than the rest of the state but nothing that will affect carry if you have a license.

Phillyfag here. This is my modest collection so far. Will probably get a .22 and a 12 guage next.

Really want a Durr rifle or a milsurp bolt action but there is really no place to shoot something like that. "The Gun Range" in Philly is decent because they let me shoot my AR and double tap my Glock (usually they are more busy keeping their eye on the group of 15 or so chinese students who just rented a .357 to make sure they dont shoot the ceiling) but all the ranges in this area are indoors and really short range.

I really want to do some long range rifle shooting but have no idea where to go. I do plan on getting the fuck out of the city as soon as I can, and will definitely factor the presence of gun stores and shooting ranges when I do.

There are several shooting clubs around but they're all either fudds or you need a recommendation from an existing member. Is it okay to just email a club like that and ask how to get in?
