Well lads, I'm about to go shoot my inherited Remington 1100 for the first time. Anything I should know? I've read the manual and cleaned it. I will be taking it to the indoor range near me that allows shotguns.

As soon as you're able go to a trap/skeet range. It's a great shotgun.
Wish I hadn't sold mine. First gun my dad bought me. Really miss it.
A tip for trap shooting, don't use the front bead sight. Use yellow/orange shooting glasses, they'll help highlight the targets.

One of the ranges near me has beginner trap shooting every week starting in the spring. I'm planning on going.

Great shotguns. Make sure to find out if its a fixed choke barrel, and if its fixed full, don't shoot steel shot or it will go boom.

All you gotta do is oil it and maintain the o-ring and it'll run forever.
Well lads I'm back from the gun range. The shotgun shot pretty well, but didn't fully eject the spent shell a few times. Any suggestions?
suspiciously look like bill's old guns

Also I'm taking out the plug because I have no plans to go hunting.

Like shell stuck in chamber or?

Please don't shoot the gun OP I'm sure you can sell it or even give it to another relative, your dad grandad whoever gave it to you wouldn't want you to shoot it that's fucked up

The spent shell wouldn't fully come out of the ejection port (it'd come about halfway out and get trapped by the breech bolt) so I'd have to pull it out to keep shooting.

What in the hell are you talking about?

Also a couple thoughts I had
>I was shooting light target loads
>The o-ring is old
>The piston seal gaps were aligned (I should have put the gaps on opposite sides when I reassembled the gun)
I'll be buying a new o-ring and maybe a new piston seal assembly.

Who is Bill?

Just buy an o-ring and go from there. Oil it up and see if that's the issue. Through all the years I've fucked with 1100s the only issue that's ever come up was a dried/damaged o-ring.
