I've shot the XDs in .45. Felt pretty smooth even with jhp. Still really not my cup of tea though.

Coming from a "fuckface behind the counter", I really don't push them. People see their size, capacity and price. I'll give you a little hint, people only buy guns 99% of the time because they are cheap. We've sold so many fucking taurus PT111 G2s that I've lost track. XD's sell mostly because of their pricepoint and the crap that Springfield gives you for free. That, and people (especially women) mostly want some sort of safety to make them feel better so they buy it because of the grip safety.

Another FFBTGC here. My store barely has any XD's so they aren't a big seller. A lot of people we have looking for a cheaper gun usually end up with a SD9VE, LCP, or PT111.
I just purchased a XD Mod.2. I got a great deal on it and a gunsmith I know really likes his so I was willing to give it a try.

I actually love the XD and own one. That being said, I own it because my sister gave it to me after her ex-husband who gave it to her ran off. I gave her a .38 S&W that she was more likely to use well. I can tell you that I NEVER would pay the asking price for an XD. Maybe - only maybe - half. It's a good gun, but like many in its class, stupidly overpriced.

I'm sure this will draw some attack artists out, but this is why I have zero problem with Hi-Point firearms. They work, they are reliable, and they're fairly priced with a great warranty. THAT is what we should expect from every single firearms manufacturer in existence.

Ruger, for example, will deny warranty service on its .380 which had (until the "red trigger upgrade") the shittiest trigger ever attached to a mass production firearm. They should have adopted the Hi-Point warranty model (we will fix any gun we ever made) but they refused to even offer that option to an original buyer - instead, they released an "upgraded" model for new buyers a fuck all of you who bought one early on.

Seriously, we need to hold the manufacturers accountable for stupid design flaws, and reward those who keep prices low. Glock uses its simplicity as an advertising feature, but refuses to pass along any of its savings in design, materials, or manufacturing, to the consumer. Fuck 'em. Give me a good gun at a great price, or I'll by something on the secondary market.

I changed my trigger out and it did the same, I filed down 1mm of metal and it's fine
Also the fact that it failed to reset Jest means that your gun has no grip safety, which is exactly what you wanted.

Seriously. When I sell people guns I have a pretty simple system for recommending guns to new buyers. It boils down to what THEY can shoot the most accurately and comfortably, preferably in a service caliber. I suggest they go to a range and try as many guns as they can before making a decision.
I had one customer say he carried a Ruger GP100. I asked why he didn't get a high capacity pistol that wouldn't be any harder to conceal. He said he shot the revolver much better than any pistols he tried. So, that was the best gun for him.

I carry a XD Mod 2 9mm compact. It's been super reliable for over 800 rounds so far and I feel very comfortable shooting it. I will say the trigger is a bit on the mushy side but for some reason I shoot it very well. I like having the grip safety for a carry weapon, makes me feel a little better protected against a ND but I don't have to worry about a manual safety.

Don't care what /k/ autists say, it's a good gun for a very reasonable price.
