Would a TT33 be a good camping sidearm?
>Cheap
>Tough and reliable
>7.62x25 offers great penetration against critters
>Asthetic

Depends on the critters. What are the biggest critters you might run into where you live?
>>33117775
Better than no gun, but there are many better options. Don't have anything bigger?
>>33117902
Probably moose. Only ever seen one, but they are in the area.

Yes, I do. But I've been thinking about an M44/TT33 combo for camping. I know the M44 had the oomph to drop a moose, just curious on how well x25 would perform.
Sell you my CZ 54. Better than tt-33

In my experience they actually aren't that reliable compared to modern handguns and revolvers. I have two and both fail around every 500 rounds or so- usually not fully returning to battery.
They don't have particularly high quality finish for corrosion resistance, which really only matters if you're going to be camping a lot and in humid conditions.
They can only be carried safely condition 2. Really not drop safe in any way.
7.62x25 offers great penetration but obviously won't have particularly great terminal ballistics otherwise
Those would be my concerns with it. It's "good" in that it's better than nothing, but I wouldn't consider anything smaller than .40 or .357 serious for any sort of critter defense. Against moose you'd really be better off trying to get into thick cover unless you're carrying a rifle or shotgun.
A good thing is that ammo is light and the handgun itself is pretty slim. It's a good for plinker if you want to split the difference between a .22lr and a centerfire.

>CZ 54
Is this a real thing, or do you mean CZ 52?
how much, and is it in 9mm or 762? I have one already but two would be nice.
Thunkin bout this or a makarov, what do?

Go with a mak, 9x18 is actually way cheaper @ ~.23-24cpr than 7.62x25 @ ~.30cpr.
I have both and can honestly say that I enjoy them equally. The Tok is loud as shit and smooth, the mak is snappy but is one of my favorite designs. Both are equally fun and enjoyable.

>Probably moose.
I wouldn't fuck around with 9mm tier semiautomatic handguns when your imagined self defense use is getting a moose to fuck off.
.45LC or better please...
>>33117775
No.
The PP7 is better.
