Ever accidentally load the wrong ammo? Post catastrophic

Nothing catastrophic, but last time at the range I accidently shot a full mag of my carry ammo.

Accidentally all my 175 SMK handloads through my PTR instead of by 45cpr Perfecta. Because my wife thought she'd "help" me load mags as a "bonding experience" and completely ignored all instructions.

Hate when that happens. Last time shooting, my brother slapped in a full 15 round mag of Underwood 220gr into his G29 and proceeded to blast at almost full-giggle speed off into a 10 yard target. When he realized he didn't grab the 15rd mag of Sellier & Bellot he just sighed as if to say, "'Tis but the life of a 10mm owner".

We shot the rest of the day, no incident, his model 10 didnt seem like it had anything wrong with it. shot fine, still shoots fine. Still talk about it to this day, and that was probably 8 years ago now.

What would happen if you fired an AR that wasn't slick side without the upper parts kit? My friend says flame would come out of the forward assist hole, but I think that shit all happens in front of the bolt and nothing will happen at all. I'm thinking of trying it tomorrow with an AR I haven't quite finished.

Beside shotgun, which calibers will actually go KB when mixed? It's almost impossible to even seat something unless it's the right cartridge.

never used the wrong caliber but I do have a mosin with a pit in the chamber that is a bitch to cycle. I bring it shooting when I dont want people to shoot my ammo. For normalfags it requires a mallet to cycle but I am able to hit the bolt hard enough with my hand to cycle it fine guess it is just retard stregnth. Still bruises my hand though.

a kid ran a .308 round through my Mosin once. I feel stupid that I explained the safety rules to everyone I was taking out shooting but not the importance of loading the right ammo. the rifle is completely fine but at the time I was livid. still have the casing as a memento.

i regularly shoot 30-06 out of my webley. i know it's not the technically "correct" cartridge for its chambering, but as long as you are smart about it and know your gun's limitations you will be fine. just don't do anything dumb like load a smokeless powder cartridge into a gun intended for blackpowder ones

I don't have anything in that caliber. Are the two rounds very similar? I was always under the impression that .38 special is a (relatively) less powerful round than .357, why would there be any issue (apart from maybe the bullet being too big for the bore)?

Well what probably happened (This was back in the 90s for me) is that I wanted to see if I could load it into the magazine, and for some reason I just never unloaded it, silly me I was a young kid back then.

If you're not careful you could be mistaken that they were the same, go grab a handful of both (brass) and mix them together and see how quickly you can tell them apart from a glance.

No problems, but ran 50 rounds of 45 gap through my 1911 because of the gun clerk gave me the wrong 45. As I said, no problems. It was a long and painful 50 rounds though.

I've loaded the wrong ammo between an ak-74 and 556 ak mag, just to see. But never by accident. Both didn't work worth a damn for more than a few racks of the bolt. I was just curious.

Was shooting my 9 next to friend with a 40. He loads a mag for me to shoot. first shot sounds like a cap gun. Check casing its a 9mm and split down the side. Hit the target fine tho.

My friend did this once back when I was just barely a hasguns. My friend brought his dad's 2 3/4 870 and the guy at the counter sold us 3 1/2 shells by accident. My friend was able to shoot one, tried to pump it and got the mother of all jams. We had to dig it out with a knife and remove all the remaining shells from the tube by pumping it and taking them out of the open breech. I'm just surprised the gun didn't KB honestly

That sucks. But you gotta shoot that ammo too. Can't just let that ammo be a magqueen all its life. Get a feel for the ammo and how it shoots. Also I understand both times were unaware of the ammo being shot. I just always like to shoot off a row or two of carry at some paper and at something that will give me some sort of feed back.
