If it takes 50 years for us to get a signal to their star via radio, then it's at least a minimum of 50 more years for them to decipher the signal and message back. 3. Aliens are utterly uninterested in us. If they're as godlike and powerful as some believe, then they've probably already harnessed the entirety of their solar system and have little to no need or interest in a primitive species. They may not even bother to see us as a threat or worth notice at all.

And of course there's the various other possibilities to answer the Fermi Paradox such as the long night scenario in which a calculating species with no compassion tends to send relativistic welcoming presents to new arrivals on the galactic stage. Or that intelligence with consciousness is actually the norm. As it is, there's a lot of unknowns.
