New version...

>tfw northern New England is now a contiguous constitutional carry zone
>MA and NY fags BTFO
>>
>>33094484
NRA is suing the AGs office in MA.

We might see some light during the Trump administration.
>>
New Hampshire joined VT and ME in becoming a constitutional carry state, eh? Good to hear.
>>
>>33094484

NY has a SAFE Act SCOTUS case pending. They were just waitimg for Scalia's seat to be filled
>>
>>33094484
MA should be updated to shall issue, it used to be that the ultimate decision was up to the local chief, but with the new law (not the commie ag's interpretation but an actual law that was passed two years ago) that if the chief can't provide a disqualifying reason based on the back ground check then the LTC must be issued.

1 step forward and 10 steps back in this state...

>>
>>33094924
From what I've heard, your Circuit (?) Court just upheld your AWB on grounds directly contradictory to the tests set forth in Miller and Heller, so the suit is SCOTUS bound, where it won't be upheld once Gorsuch is seated.
>>
So NH and Main are now constitutional carry? Really this will make my day.
>>
>>33094484
Oregon is going to get fucked, we have a bill in our legislature that would make us May Issue again.
>>
>>33095488
Maine's been Constitutional for about a year; NH literally passed it yesterday.
>>
>>33095336
Maybe.

Court didn't take several other AWB cases while Scalia was on alive.

Rumor is Kennedy had a change of heart on the 2nd Amendment after Sandy Hook, and that's why Roberts and Alito have been letting the cases go. Might be best to just wait until Ginsburg or Breyer or Kennedy himself kick the bucket.

It's pretty common wording in a lot of legal statutes.

Caliber qualified? Does that mean you can only carry .45? Would you have to hand whatever gun you're carrying to a cop to inspect for the right caliber?

Plus, .45 what? ACP? LC? Super? Winchester Magnum? SMC? Peters-Thompson shot cartridge?
>>

bore size is all that matters, but that's hilarious.

Funny enough they didn't even ask the "Why do I want this permit?" In fact they asked me why I didn't get this permit first (because I was licensed in FL,MA,UT). I straight up told them that it was the pervading wisdom that it was difficult to get and they said "since when?" Needless to say I was dumbfounded and they told me to stop listening to fake news and they had approved hundreds of permits last year. So yeah there goes misinfo for ya.
>>
>>33094484
ND has constitutional carry going through state legislation right now. The big caveats are that you'd have to inform a police officer at the start of your interaction that you're carrying, and you'd have to have been a resident w/state ID for a year

Here's to hoping!

New Hampshire was the same way. Two different governors vetoed it.

It was kind of hilarious though, the previous governor ran for Senate instead, and Bloomberg threw shitloads of money at her, and she wound up winning. But because she's no longer governor, we got a new one, and he finally fucking signed the legislation.

So I don't support unrestricted Constitutional carry.

It's idiotic to allow anyone to CC without proper training

There had to be some sort of test to show you are proficient with a whepon.

Something simple like: drawing and firing 5 shots on target then reholstering without shooting yourself.

Passing a simple written test with laws and conditions Evey state has.

The last thing we need is a bunch of fat gun owners accidently shooting themselves or others because that state allows any moron to carry

The right to C Carry is not in the bill of rights, free speech is.

Free speech is also limited

On how to get it? Just fill out the paperwork and submit it. It varies from town to town (I didn't even think to get the AG permit because OH WOW OPEN CARRY!!!.) If anything definitely go through your town or (if you have other permits from other states any town) and follow what's on the packet. For the "letter of need" I literally put my life story and all things I have done with guns (instructor, range safety officer, multiple permits). They didn't even ask "Why I need to carry" just simple clarification on some points I made in my letter.

As long as you're over 21 and not otherwise prohibited, then yes. The laws in all three states apply to both residents and non-residents.

An average AR is plenty accurate / powerful for shots up to 250 yards on medium sized game like deer and pigs with a decent scope, farther if you're using a long match barreled AR with heavier bullets. They're also very light and compact so they're great for walking around innawoods for miles at a time. I use a 16" barreled AR here in Texas for hunting feral hogs at night where I might walk 4-5 miles through fields and woods, sometimes I'll use it for deer hunting if I'm in a wooded area and won't have many shots available over 150 yards.

Maybe they want to make sure you're a financially stable, upstanding citizen and not some hermit who lives off the grid in a shack in the woods or a welfare king who lives on gov't bennies. Not sure why that would really matter either though to be honest.

I asked that. Apparently there is some kind of state regularity reason. The clerk and I agreed that it was odd, as the permit never gets reviewed and people change jobs all the time.

Well for the initial application when you're getting your permit it makes sense but to have it printed on the permit seems pointless. Also nationality? As opposed to a non-New Yorker, non-US citizen?

You'd think they'd list eye color, hair color, race/ethnicity, sex, etc like a normal driver's license too.

>the right to CC is not in the bill of rights
Oh im sorry, i forgot that a piece of paper is the only thing that legitimizes my existence as a human being.

I have the right to CC, with or without the constitution. I don't need the government's opinion on the matter

>Wisconsin

Feels bad living in a state that is conservative to the point of resisting any type of change. On the plus side, we are a pretty good gun state.

How fucked are my rights about to be?

It's pretty neat that our nation's capital is one of the worst places in the country for our rights. This shit is as bad as California, maybe worse before parts of the ammo restriction thing got changed.

Lots of blacks and liberal government workers in DC

Lots of Hispanics, legal and illegal too, I think

Letting an untrained, moronic press run around is idiotic and will cause more harm than good.

Yet here we are.

I just grabbed a somewhat unorthodox Christian church. Pentecostals are weird to me, with the speaking in tongues and visions crap, but I've never had a real issue with the church as a whole.
