>John Wick trades his P30L for the firearm equivalent of this car
where did it go so wrong
This is now a John Wick thread.
I'm just happy the 1911 got screentime
>yes I know it's a kimber.
>>33087445
It was also treated with the appropriate amount of respect
John's not really a gun guy. He's an assassin.
The only thing he really care about is capacity and if the gun has a decent grip when his hands get bloody.
His character is the epitome of "A hi-point will kill you just as dead as your $3000 custom 1911" meme

Im gonna hijack to ask this question, whats the main selling point of the p30l, compared to another hk gun like the usp. Why would you chose one over the other
>>33087554
The p30l is the "latest and greatest"
Bragging rights for having a brand new fun

No he picks up a few more guns and holsters the 1911
or did you honestly think all the mags he was picking up and guns he was swapping where all 1911s chambered in 45acp?

>whats the main selling point of the p30l
The P2000 is a slimmer version of the USP and the P30 is essentially a P2000 but with different ergos. The P30L is just a long slide version of the regular sized P30 making it more shootable and John Wick used a comp on it that makes it much more flatter shooting.
Also, the P30 is proven as fuck as shown in this link. A lot of people get into HK's because of LEM triggers too.
>91,322 rounds 13 stoppages, 0 malfunctions, 5 parts breakages test ended at: 91,622 rounds At 91,300 rounds,
>the P30 was running strong. Even after a chunk went missing from the frame

Wow that link. Thank you anon

You're welcome. The forum made by the same author who passed away last year is actually one of the best resources for learning how to shoot pistols. Check it out.

Already bookmarked it

You're right, he was swapping guns during the scene, but kept going back to the 1911

Thanks, I'm still garbage with pistols. Should probably sign up and take a class.

>Should probably sign up and take a class.
This will accelerate your learning faster than trying to teach yourself. Look into certain people to train with like
>Wayne Dobbs
>Kyle Defoor
>Ernest Langdon
>Tom Givens
>Frank Proctor
>Darryl Bolke
They have AAR's (After Action Report) of their classes on the training subforum on pistolforum and are all excellent instructors that know their shit when it comes to teaching.
Planning on taking a class with Tom Givens in about a month. Typically these classes will have $400-$500 2-day class fees, 1,000 rounds of expended ammo and travel fees but it is the best investment you can make to learn how to really shoot.
Also check out Luckygunner's youtube page. It is a great resource for no bullshit and well presented info on handgun shooting as well as conceal carry.

As great as it would be to fly one of the pros down, I'll probably start with a $100 day glass at the local range and then maybe start saving up for something that intense.
I'll need it eventually anyway though since I've been wanting to get into 3-gunning for the past two years now.
Every time I watch these films though I am reminded of how shit I am and it's time I started changing that. Going to the range and pissing away $100 of rounds every other week isn't doing me any favors.

>I'll probably start with a $100 day glass at the local range and then maybe start saving up for something that intense.
That's sensible, just find an instructor locally that will charge a small fee like that and at the same time, has the ability to teach.
>Going to the range and pissing away $100 of rounds every other week isn't doing me any favors.
You can get a lot of work done with say 50 or 100 rounds, more than what most people think. I'm guilty of going to the range, mindlessly blasting 100 rounds through the same hole at 7 or 14 yards.

Also dryfire is absolutely imperative. Doing it correctly is even more important.

Primary & Secondary is also a good resource for learning too. Pistol forum and P&S are my two go to places for real learning over anything else. I don't really care for 3-Gun so I can't give you too much info on that.
>>33089046
Thanks again for the resources.
I've gotta head to bed for work in the morning, but I'll be sure to check them all out!
I don't know though, it just feels like wasted money since I'm only getting slightly more familiar with the handling and working toward removing eye dominance little by little. I feel I need to drop some cash since I've noticed a reduction in improvement these past few months. Think I may have hit the self taught wall for now. But then again you posted those resources, so maybe not.
Tightening my groupings is my biggest goal since I can't practice drawing/ firing at any of the local ranges.
3-gunning is a bit more speed focused than anything and I'm looking for spots locally I can carve out of the forest or woods for practicing since I don't have any property yet. Seemed like a fun and challenging thing so that's what I started building my collection around.
Although I go a bit outside the norm from time to time, pic related. I fucking love this gun.
